Antler headband from Topshop: the madness continues

antler headband by topsho unique Antler headband from Topshop: the madness continuesSo, you weren’t keen on the wolf ears, huh?

Well, we can’t say we blame you. In fact, we agreed with pretty much every comment on that post.

Maybe Topshop can interest you in this Antler headband instead, though?

No? Sure? Hey, where’d everybody go?!

(What’s most bizarre to us about this one is that it’s £80. EIGHTY POUNDS. That’s about $120. And OK, if it was cheap, we can see someone buying it as a joke item, or for a costume party – Halloween is, after all, just around the corner. An £80 price tag, however, suggests something you’d be planning to wear more than just once, and as more than just a novelty, “haha, lookit me, I’m totally wearing antlers you guys!” kinda thing. In conclusion: HUH?!)

Click here to buy it, but before you do, PLEASE drop us a comment to tell us how and why you plan to wear it: we’re genuinely interested!

  1. They’re selling harnesses too – do they want us to dress up as reindeer? Look:

Sold out, too – in both colours. And the wolf ears are sold out, as well!

    • Looking at the harness on its own you’d think it was (albeit lightweight) bondage gear. But if you look at their harness tee http://www.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=33057&storeId=12556&productId=1944837&langId=-1&categoryId=&searchTerm=unique%20collection – also, mistifyingly, sold out – it looks more like one of part of a toddler’s walking reins set.

I was in TopShop today, and they have lots of strange furry things in their accessories department, so if you’re really desperate for wolf ears you could always chop one of those up…

    • I do in fact own a headband with reindeer antlers and -ears on it. It’s meant as a funny christmas accessory and cost about 3 € or something.
And I wear it -if at all- once a year.

  2. I love these! They are just the sort of thing I buy and then put in the back of the wardrobe, never to be seen again. But definitely Christmas-inspired!

  3. When I saw this, I kind of thought, “Hey, it would make a cute photo idea I guess…”
Then I saw they were £80 and I have to say I did a stupid shocked face.

  4. Why yes, I would. I would dress up as a deer and do deer things for money, for city people that have never seen a deer. Hire myself out for children’s Christmas/birthday parties. And so on.

  5. To be completely and maybe a bit horrifyingly honest, I kind of dig them. They’re cool… Not that I would try to wear them (in public at least)but I kind of like them!

  6. I imagine they’re aimed at all the hipster kids who think they’re photographers, so that they can go down to the forest and take pictures of themselves being deer-people. Makes a nice change to holding actual antlers up to their heads.

  7. Isn’t it a reaction on that European supernanny program? I don’t know if they watched the same thing as we did here, but we had a kid screaming “I want a reindeer hat!”. Since then everyone here wants those things. Not kidding. Teenagers even walk around with them in public. It’s just horrible, and kind of funny at the same time.
I stil wouldn’t buy them, though. Bad luck for Topshop!

  8. The idea of turning them into a jewellery holder greatly appeals to me.
    But…
…in quite a few languages, you say a cuckolded (male) spouse has horns or antlers. No wonder they are sold out already… ;)

  9. my friend’s birthday party has a music video theme. i’m going as “sugar we’re going down” by fall out boy. these antlers are integral to my costume.
