Celebrities in Fancy Dress: Paris Hilton dresses as Marilyn Monroe for new frangrance launch

No, we have no idea why, either. This wasn’t a costume party, as far as we can tell – it was the launch of Paris Hilton’s new fragrance, ‘Tease’ – but Paris apparently decided it was the perfect excuse to get dressed up as her idol, Marilyn Monroe.

We’ve actually had nightmares in which we’re the only ones to turn up to a costume party actually in costume, but as this isn’t too far removed from how Paris dresses anyway, maybe she thought she could get away with it…

I was just thinking the same thing as Drea. Her tan makes her look leathery and old, also I’m scared her boobs are going to escape and terrorize LA.

She looks overtanned, old and cheap. Her Breasts look horrible.

She’s certainly had a recent boob job!
Plus even with her slender frame that bandage dress is not flattering. I shudder to think what it would look like on my mortal figure.

@Ros, This dress would also look terrible on Marilyn herself, who was not skinny. Honestly, Paris looks more like some old guy’s idea of what a trophy wife should look like. Not at all like a woman in charge of her own life.

I’m tired of hearing every 20ish female in Hollywood say Marilyn Monroe is her idol. Nothing against Ms. Monroe, but it’s just so cliche and unoriginal.

At any rate, Paris looks leathery and washed up.

I can only agree with everyone here. She looks like fifty year old who has had too much cosmetic surgery and hates her husband.

Looks like someone aged Marylin by 100 years, dunked her in orange dye and shot Homer Simpson’s makeup gun at her. Oh dear.

Seriously unattractive. I agree with everyone else that she looks old. I also think that she is confusing a bad smell face with a sexy look.

Paris got the image all wrong. She’s about a size 2, and has squeezed herself into a size 0 dress. Not flattering.

I am all for promoting real-sized models and regulating airbrushing, but I’m sick of people touting Marilyn Monroe as THE non-skinny icon. Yes, she was a size 12, but that translates to about an 8 the way we size today, which is a slim figure for a woman of 5’5″ height, D cup bra, and weight of 118 lbs, as she was (she probably would have been a size four or six without the D cup).

All that is true, Karen, but you don’t see size 8s on the runways or in the movies today. And a size 8 woman would look horrible in this dress. That was my only point.

I feel so sorry for her when I look at this. I don’t know why I get this feeling of pity. She just tries so hard!

    And the score stands at: 1950s 1, 2010s 0.

Of course, Miss Monroe had the advantage of coming from an era before excessive cosmetic surgery and orange-leathery tans. Also she smiled quite often. So she looks a bit like a human being in many ways.

    It helps.

I LOVE whoever commented about ‘Homer Simpson’s makeup gun’. That’s awesome.

Meanwhile… Paris is such an enormously sad waste. Nobody’s interested in her anymore and she’s desperate for attention. This is a HUGE fashion fail. Who told her she’d be able to pull this look off? What a terribly cruel prank.

I never really liked the Monroe-styled hair and makeup. Paris Hilton is only a bit worse than the usual.

She’s much too skinny and fake cleavage-y to be a good Marilyn Monroe. Sorry Paris… bummer.

She’s just not soft enough to carry off the look. She’s too tanned, and muscular, and stuck up looking. If she smiled, it might look better.
