Some days it’s just so darned hard to decide. Will you wear black, or will you wear pink? Will you be a daring, fashion maverick, a charmingly eccentric style leader… or will you just wear your old black trouser suit, like everyone else at the office?
Thanks to Alexis Mabille, you no longer have to make that decision. You can do both. Black AND pink. Leader AND follower. Fashion criminal and… well, fashion criminal. NO COMPROMISE, readers! People approaching you from the left will think you’re wearing a standard black suit. People approaching you from the right will think you’re in shocking, Pepto-Bismol pink. People approaching you from the front, or from behind, meanwhile… they’ll just think they probably shouldn’t have had that fifth martini last night.
What do YOU think, though, readers? Are you in love with this two-sided creation, or are you just thinking that at least now we know what to wear with those Marc Jacobs jester boots we showed you last week? Tell us!
No one told me modelling would be like this. When I became a model, I thought it would be glamorous. I thought I’d be meeting beautiful people and wearing beautiful clothes, and now look at me! I’m dressed like an inmate from the Fashion Police jail! Or a lunatic asylum.”
That was the question we posed in our Style Challenge last week, and here are your answers. The outfits submitted feature everything from pretty dresses to casual jeans, and from glamorous evening gowns to classic cowgirl style. We think the answer to the “what to wear with cowboy boots” question, then, is “whatever you want!” If you treat them just like any other pair of boots (which is, after all, what they are), you’re limited only by your imagination.
We’ve put all of your sets into one post, which means we couldn’t add a poll, so please feel free to nominate your favourite outfit in the comments section, and let its creator know you appreciated their work! Thanks to everyone who took part!
AAARGH! They’re coming! They’re coming! The models are coming to take over the world! God, we always KNEW this would happen, we just didn’t know it would be so freaking scary when it did… Run, people! Save yourselves if you can!
Leather and canvas. Not the first combination you would think of for a pair of high end boots, is it? And by high end, we mean £890 worth of boots.
These look like canvas boots with a leather trouser leg over the top which is a multiple crime of fashion in itself: boots pretending to be shoes with a trouser leg stuck to them (stuck together clothes crime right there).
Net-a-Porter describes this as ‘military inspired’ and ‘fashion forward’. We call it ‘confused’ and ‘looks slightly odd when worn with pants’.
What do you think though readers? Would you buy this style of footwear and so, would you spend almost £900 on it? If you would, you can buy these boots here.
This could actually be a decent dress. The colours are pretty, the print is unusual, and the maxi is an easy way to glam in the summer heat. But the cut of this particular dress is just impossibly poor! Just look at the picture and tell us what you see…
Sagging breasts and a bloated stomach? Yup, us too.
The Fashion Police were tempted to believe that it might look ok on a model or mannequin. A visit to the website showed they were sadly mistaken.
However, should you feel you could make this dress work this summer, you can grab it from the Dorothy Perkins website for £38.
