We’ve had a couple of questions on Formspring recently about what to wear with cowboy boots, and while we’ve given our answer over there, we thought we’d pass the question on to our readers, and turn it into a Style Challenge.
What would you wear with cowboy boots (assuming that you absolutely had to wear them)? Your challenge is to head over to Polyvore and put together an outfit using the boots pictured above. Next week, we’ll publish your outfits, and the question will be answered for once and for all!

Don’t you just hate when you catch your top on something and are left with a great gaping hole over your belly button? (Excepting those of you with perfectly taut and toned abdominals, of course, who probably relish the opportunity to flash those abs at all and sundry.) I mean, it can completely ruin a perfectly nice “ethnic” print top! (And why are patterns like this always described as “ethnic”, anyway?)
The answer is to purchase a top which already has the front torn out. That way you can’t catch it on anything!

What we have here readers is a ‘one thing pretending to be something else’ crime. In this case it is a bikini, attempting to pass itself off as a one piece swimming costume. We’re not fooled though, especially when we see the back view. Joining the two sections of a bikini together with a little bit of crochet does not a one piece make. In fact, joining the two sections of the bikini bottoms together with crochet at the sides does not a flattering swimsuit make. And won’t someone please think of the tan lines!
What do you think though? Do you like this enough to risk the web-like suntan pattern you will surely get from wearing this to the beach? Do you want to people to ask how such an horrendous ladder got in the front of your costume (because the more we look at this, the more it reminds us of laddered tights)? What do you get when you pair ladylike sophistication with acres of totally sheer fabric? Why, you get the Valentino Fall 2010 Couture show, of course! Add a bird cage, a whole lot of bows and at least one signature red dress, and you have Valentino at its typical best. We love it, but what about you?
