Of flora and fauna and footwear

Wedges woven from leaves? Daisy-chain gladiators? Well, kind of. These fantastic creations crafted from plants and flowers are just that – fantasy. While you could probably (very carefully) strap yourself into the wedges, we think some daisies may be harmed if the gladiators were attempted to be worn. The shoes were designed by photographer Michel Tcherevkof for  Shoe Fleur, a book inspired by Tcherevkof’s journeys to New York’s Flower Market. He created 100 shoes, boots and handbags for the tome, which includes a preface by Ferruccio Ferragamo and a forward by Diane von Furstenberg. We can totally see the daisy shoes with a summer DVF wedges for an editorial. What do you think? Is the idea stylish or silly?

Love the wedges! The green is just fabulous – so they would only work for the first use. Maybe plastic?

I would absolutely wear the daisy gladiators if they were made of fabric or leather. They’re gorgeous!

I think pixies and fairies wear this, and they look fab in them.

I really love this as a form of art. Perfect for an art concept in a gallery or a fashion show or a campaign to ‘go green’ or some other form of advertising but not really to actually wear out.

I absolutely love the wedges. Someone make them from waxed cotton!

I don’t like the wedges, but those gladiators would look beautiful worn for a photoshoot or something like that. In fact I think I’d wear them if they were, like Karen said, made of something more substantial than flowers.

I love the gladiators (if make out of realistic leather/ plastic flowers)! I would pair it with a summery cotton dress and keep makeup/ accessories to a minimal!

I think those would look great on the stage as costume shoes.

In real life? Not so much.
