Incoming Fashion Trend: Animals on Clothes

Miu Miu has a lot to answer for. Having sent the fashionistas of the world into a tizzy over their recent cat and swallow print offerings, they’ve effectively opened the door for other brands to follow suit. And they have.

“Fashionable people like cute animals on their clothes,” is clearly the thinking here. “We will GIVE them cute animals on their clothes, by God!”

So far, however, no one’s been quite sure which animals we’d go for, (the cats and swallows are under contract to Miu Miu, so they’re out), so they decided to hedge their bets and see what worked. And thus we have:

So, what’s it going to be, folks? Which lucky member of the animal world will be the lucky successor to the swallows-and-cats crown? (Our money’s on the sheep. Gotta love those sheep…) And what do you think of the current trend for cute animals on your clothes, anyway? Love or loathe?

  1. I love, and since I am a lawyer, I would wear the owl top. Maybe a peacock would be very elegant in a sheer blouse I guess

  2. I saw the River Island Giraffe one in store today. Unfortunatly, it’s another case of stuck-together clothes!
I love all of them, except the Giraffe, Elephant and Asos ones.

  3. The owl and scotty dog ones win out for me because they are subtle, although unfortunately I can see myself buying them and then three months later realizing that what I had thought to be a simple pattern was actually dogs/owls, which might be a little embarrassing. :S

  4. I really like the sheep cardigan. And though I’m not usually a fan of patterned clothing, I find these ones interesting. Give me moar!

  5. I saw a cat blouse in Asda today. Or was it swallow – well it was a “save” version of a Miu Miu one away.

I’d definitely wear a garment with hyraxes on it, but have a feeling there aren’t going to be many of these around…
