It’s been a long time since our last Style Challenge, so we thought we’d ease you back into things with a (fairly) easy one: the denim mini skirt!
Denim skirts are one of those items which never really disappear from the stores, or from some people’s wardrobes, but they’re far from universally loved either, and, once you’re past your teens, can be a little tricky to incorporate into an outfit. How would you do it, whether teens, twenties, thirties or above? The skirt above is from Miss Selfridge, and we challenge you to use Polyvore to build an outfit around it, and post the link in the comments section below, as inspiration to us all!

As alarming as this bizarre hybrid of jean/sock may look at first glance, be reassured that these Jean Sock Boots, as they’re known, are not merely another Stuck Together Clothes Crime: they do, in fact, have a practical purpose, and that purpose is to allow you to tuck your jeans into your long boots without any unsightly overhang. We hate unsightly overhang.
A couple of points here:
1. Skinny jeans. Or even leggings. We know a ot of you seem to hate them, but they come into their own in this kind of situation, and can be worn with other forms of footwear, too.
2. What if you wear these to someone’s home, and they ask you to remove your boots at the door? Then your Jean Sock Boots will be revealed in all their Socks-Stuck-To-Jeans glory, and you’ll be forever known as That Girl The Fashion Police Came And Took Away That One Time.

Ever wanted to know what is was like to wear silver foil on your legs? Well now you can! Adidas have produced a pair of crop leggings/jogging pants which are made entirely from aluminium foil.
Ok, so they’re not really made of aluminium foil, they’re made of cotton, but it will certainly look like you have encased your legs in foil if you should wear these pants. Is that something you want to do though readers? Perhaps you have always had a hankering to be able to see your face in your running attire?
Did we mention that these are £100? If you have that sort of money to spend on leggings or sportswear, then you can go ahead and buy them at ASOS.

The Fashion Police are truly torn on the subject of this dress. The colours are divine – those delectable shades of green so beautifully drawn out by the turquoise, well, they’re just lovely! The fabric could potentially look a bit like that old 70s throw from your Gran’s sofa, but somehow doesn’t. And the shape is simple, flattering, easy to wear.
But the tassles. The tassles!
We know tassles have featured in quite a number of collections over recent years, but they have mostly featured on belts, or necklaces, or anywhere more practical than around the elbows. Because let’s face it, these are going to annoy you like heck, bouncing around your elbows as you try to type, catching in the buckle of your shoulder bag or on the arm rests on the train, tickling your arm and making you sure that creepy-crawlies are creeping and crawling over your arm… They’re just not practical.
