Like big gowns? Lots of glamour? Maybe even the occasional fashion crime or three? Well, you’re in luck: the Cannes Film Festival traditionally includes all of those, and it kicked off in fine – or at least dramatic – style last night, with Eva Longoria Parker (above) attempting to turn the red carpet white, courtesy of a dress with a massive train. And she wasn’t the only one to take the “bigger is better” approach to Cannes: take a look at our gallery to see what we mean!

You know those days when dressing up like an extra from The Rocky Horror Show actually seems like a good idea rather than a horrendous one? The days that you wake up thinking “Oooh, my thighs look hawt today – far too good to hide under opaque cycle shorts!”? The days when cycle shorts in any guise seem like a fashion statement worth making rather than a flashback to primary school sports days and over-sized Naf Naf t-shirts…
What do you mean, you don’t?
Well, next time you just have to have a pair of fishnet cycle shorts you’ll know exactly where to go for a pair that won’t break the bank. Which is probably just as well, for the limited use you’ll likely get out of them…

When Kim Kardashian made an in-store appearance last week, she was criticized for wearing those dreaded of all denim duds – the Mom Jean. The Fashion Police did not call Kim’s choice into question as we sort of like the look on her, and wouldn’t call these Mom Jeans at all. And, Kim’s nice enough to point out that the term is kind of mean to all the fashionable mothers out there.
“For some reason, high-waisted jeans are always branded with this negative term and I think it’s kind of ridiculous,” Kim blogged. “I don’t think these are mom jeans at all. And even if they are, who’s to say any mom wouldn’t look fabulous in them!? Any woman who is proud of her curves should be able to flaunt them in high-waisted jeans!!! So you know what… I’m proud to rock the mom jeans!”

Half pinstripe pant, half camo-print short. Perfect for those days when… actually, you know what? We can’t even finish that sentence. We have no idea what these would be perfect for. Your suggestions are welcome.

We’re guessing many of our readers probably weren’t around to witness the first crime wave involving these, when Madonna’s devotion to then in the 80s spawned a thousand copy-cat crimes, so you’ll be able to look at these with un-jaded eyes and judge them without bias. Jessica Biel has been running all over New York City this month with her favorite accessory – Justin Timberlake. But lately, her Stuart Weitzman Manoman Lace Ups have been coming in a close second. She’s worn them leaving Bubby’s Restaurant with Timberlake, above, as well as walking around downtown and also leaving the Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway after watching the musical “In the Heights.” So we know they must be comfortable and practical for city streets. The menswear-inspired lace up shoes have also been proving quite popular and trendy lately – but do we find them to be stylish and flattering?
The Fashion Police were impressed how well Biel pulls them off with cropped jeans in our surveillance above, the bone shade probably helps keep what little is seen of the leg line in tact.
