Well, readers, it’s official: harem pants have made it to the red carpet (or concrete sidewalk, in this case), and on no less a person than Juliette Binoche, famed for her classical beauty and chic French style.
The world mourns.
Or does it? The Fashion Police will probably never come to terms with the dropped crotch, but it seems the rest of the world is willing to embrace it, and we can’t help but feel that Juliette’s endorsement of the crotch is a telling moment in fashion history. Has the harem finally become a style staple? Will diaper-pants compete with little black dresses as the go-to party piece for women all over the world. Do these pants actually look… dare we say it… good?
We’re confused, and a little bit frightened. It’s like the world we know has turned on its axis, and now everything we formerly believed was wrong. If you look hard enough, we’re pretty sure that’s a flying pig in the background of the photo.
Help us out here, readers. Do you think Juliette Binoche is working the hell out of these pants?

In the world of fashion, there is a certain school of thought which says that if ya got it, you may as well flaunt it.
There’s also another school of thought, however, which says that if your dress could easily be mistaken for a long-ish top, you may well end up flaunting a whole lot more than you bargained for.
There’s no doubt in our minds that Eva Herzigova has GOT IT. We think we might be about to see “it”, too, if she just leans forward a little. This makes us suspect that Eva may well be committing a fashion crime here, and getting away with it purely on account of the got it/flaunt it rule.
SHOULD she get away with it? Where do you stand on the issue of dresses that look like tops? Should we get the cuffs out?

Whether you love Mad Men, or just love the fashion from the show, we’re willing to bet you might also love Pin-Up Girl Clothing right now, because it’s just chock-full of Mad Men-inspired fashion. We spotted this green ‘Ava’ dress, which is more or less identical to the one worn by Christina Hendricks in the image on the left, and would be perfect for Hendricks-style curvy figures.
This is also available in teal, and you can buy it here.

The Fashion Police station pretty much has a revolving door for Lindsay Lohan, and her leggings line cum clothing collection 6126. The next file we’re going to have to open? One specifically for handbags. LaLohan revealed her love for handbags and plans to add them to her line in WWD this week.
“I’ve always loved handbags; they are the most important accessory to me,” said Lohan, creative director for 6126. “The right bag can take any outfit to the next level, giving it that finishing touch and really making it complete.”
The Blaze bag, previewed above, features black and nude snake-embossed leather with napa trim and interlaced corset gusset detail. The pieces will range in price from $165 to $395 and be sold in department stores like Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale’s and boutiques. There will be 12 total styles in three groups – Starlette, Glam-A-Go Go and Kitten With a Whip. Yeah, we’re already kind of rolling our eyes.
What do you think? Is the sketch promising or is this just going to lengthen Lindsay’s rap sheet?

Utility and comfort are key trends for this season. Whether you’re looking for a pair of hard-working combats or cosy, gym-ready jogging bottoms, designers and high street alike have something to offer. But what if you can’t decide which route to follow – what if you need comfort and utility rolled into one?
Well then, dear reader, you need to take a trip to your nearest Alexander Wang stockist for a pair of these Asymmetric Trousers! Half combat (allegedly), half jogger, they combine the best of both worlds WITH an asymmetric front fastening to boot! So that, if neither the squaddie nor gym-bunny look hits the spot, you can add tramp into the mix – because what other influence would inspire the “held up by a safety pin” look?
If sporty-tramp-army is the effect you’re after this summer, pay a trip to the Selfridges website and pick up all three trends for a measly £360!

Salma Hayek stunned again at the premiere of Wall Street, Money Never Sleeps. While she’s looked gorgeous all week, this is THE red for her and the fit on this silk georgette Gucci Premiere is impeccable. The drape at the waist and hips and red glass bugle-bead embroidery are only out-shadowed by the lady’s gorgeous gams on display with a thigh-high slit. The slit also gives us a good look at Hayek’s red satin peep-toe platforms.
