From the peep toe boot files: Alexander Wang Mirte Laced Zip Boots

mirte boots From the peep toe boot files: Alexander Wang Mirte Laced Zip Boots

These boots appear to be the Frejal double layer boots‘ grungier sister – and remind The Fashion Police more than a little of the Doc Martens of their youth. Only with offending peep toes. And with that oh-so-strange and oh-so-now boot within a boot thing going on. And also the inability to decide whether they’re lace up or zip-close…

All in all these really are the most confused boots we have seen in some time. But perhaps you can imagine them resplendent with new grunge chic? What do you think – could you may these wonders work for your wardrobe? If so they are available from mytheresa.com at €659,00.

Faith shoes goes into administration

faith shoes in administrati Faith shoes goes into administration

It’s a Black Friday indeed for UK shoe lovers, as Faith shoes announced today that the company has gone into administration, with the above message posted on their website.

All is not quite lost for Faith, and there are already rumours of a buyout by department store Debenhams, which already carries Faith stock as one of its concessions. We have all of our fingers crossed that something can be done to allow the brand to continue: they’ve been an intrinsic part of the UK high street for a long time now, and have produced some beautiful shoes over the years, so it would be very sad to see them go out of business altogether.

Here’s hoping for better news soon: Faith, we’ll miss you if you go!

Kelly Osbourne wears a little black dress to Us Weekly’s Hot Hollywood Style Issue Event

LFI Usmagazine14 Kelly Osbourne wears a little black dress to Us Weeklys Hot Hollywood Style Issue Event

By the time it gets this late on a Friday afternoon, the fashion blogger’s brain has started to turn to mush (yes, even more so than usual!), so we’re actually quite grateful to Kelly Osbourne for spelling out what she’s wearing in this photo: literally. It’s a little black dress, you see: and we know we’re right about that because it says so on the back!

Thanks, Kelly! What would be even more awesome would be if Luke Worrall’s suit had “Black Suit” written on the back. Or if harem pants had “Crime of Fashion” printed on them. Well, it would certainly make OUR job easier, anyway.

Little black dress aside, isn’t Kelly Osbourne looking amazing these days? You’ll find another photo under the jump if you’re wondering what this outfit looks like from the front…

Wetsuit dress by Unique at Topshop

Topshop Unique wetsuit dress Wetsuit dress by Unique at Topshop

It certainly is Unique, Topshop, we’ll give you that.

Reader Kat spotted this dress (and we use that term loosely, believe us) on the Topshop website and reported it to us as a crime of fashion.  And rightly so.  It’s a dress made of wetsuit fabric, complete with PVC zip detailing.  We are not entirely sure where you are supposed to wear such an item – the beach we would assume, but with all those straps on the shoulders?  Think of the tan lines!

This is certainly one dress you would need to try on before buying – you don’t want those flaps which are designed to cover your assets to be in the wrong place now, do you?

The colour is listed as grey but to us it looks like it started life as black but has been left out in the sun.  Presumably through too much wear on the beach.

Would you pay £75 for a garment called a wetsuit dress but which is fails to really function as either?  If you would, you can do so here.

Suspect Roundup: Cut-out detail dresses

cutout dresses Suspect Roundup: Cut out detail dresses

The cutout dress is becoming a bit ubiquitous these days, so we’ve rounded up a few suspects for your judgement. First up we’ve got your standard sexy cutout dress, a Jill Stuart Cap Sleeve Mesh Cutout Sheath Dress, $228. While obviously sexy with its sheer panels, this dress does keep the cutouts on the modest side, not revealing any private bits as the sexier versions often do. For something a little more off beat, we found the Yigal Azrouel Jersey Cutout Dress, $978. This is a tricky one, as it doesn’t actually contain literal cutouts, but a “cutout look” nude on black print. Finally, for something a little more on the safe and girly side, there’s the M.S.S.P. Cutout-Detail Tunic Dress, $76.80, to show that the trend need not always be serious and sexed up.

We’re asking you to sentence both the trend and the individual pieces as you see fit, so have at it!

Petal to the Metal Natasha Messenger Bag

Bird print has been popping up on everything this Spring, and while this Marc by Marc Jacobs messenger bag is a little more subtle than most (Which isn’t something we get to say too often about MJ!), it still has a couple of cute little bird silhouettes on the front, which should keep trend-watchers happy.

This comes in black and tan as well as the pink shown above, and is $428 at Shopbop.
