For those looking for all the style of a hoodie, but none of the actual function of one (i.e. warmth), Topshop’s mesh version is a bargain at £30.
We guess there are probably situations where people would find this a suitable item of clothing (are there?), though, so actually, the real question here is whether a sheer hoodie should be referred to as a “shoodie”. We think we’ll probably do that anyway. Readers, meet the SHOODIE. Would you wear it?

Yes. In fact, I have a fishnet one as well. It’s all for style, or for people who hate showing their arms.
I think sheer overgarments are OK, as they don’t make you look you didn’t realise your underwear would show through whatever you’re wearing, and they do make you feel a bit warmer by trapping some air (as long as you’re not in a windy place).
And of course, as Amee said, there’s the arm-covering aspect, which is why I also have a sheer long shirt/jacket thing to hide the eczema on my arms. (Or at least make it less obvious looking.)
I have one in fishnet, too, but slightly longer. It was sold as a swimsuit cover up. I am always amazed to find I am fashionable without any conscious effort on my part…
I like it, I think it is cute!
I think it would be nice for working out, maybe it will keep you cooler?
It’s not that bad. Still, I think this would likely be found on Rihanna or Amber Rose.

I have one that’s sorta similar, from the GAP a few years ago. It’s a larger mesh pattern, and it’s great for a little extra layer in over-airconditioned buildings during the summer and such. Although it’s cotton, not poly (as the one above seems to be), so not as likely to get gross and stinky. The poly turns me off more than the style.

I think it’s aesthetically acceptable. The hood drapes nicely too, and is big enough to protect a hairdo from light rain or mist…
Yes. I have a number of sheer longsleeved tops, they are really flattering and classy and look way expensive on, when you wear them right. i am on the lookout for more. Also, a hoody style always looks good on me.
As long as you’re planning wearing something under it, I think it would look fine.
I just ordered this hoodie off the TopShop website after falling in love with it as soon as I stumbled upon it. I’ll review it once I get it in the mail.
