Cheryl Cole in peep toe boots and mini dress in Paris

It’s nice to Cheryl Cole smiling after the horrible few weeks she’s had, isn’t it?

Cheryl was snapped leaving her hotel in Paris this week wearing peep toe boots and a lace-insert mini dress. Neither of these items would be something we’d reach for if we saw them in a store, but we actually think the look suits Cheryl, and she carries it off pretty well. What do you think?

We think it’s fair to say Versace have got just a little bit carried away with the platforms this season, no?

These shoes have a seven inch heel, although the fact that they also have a three inch platform should make the heel feel a little shorter. Won’t make you feel any less like a baby giraffe trying to stand up on your shaky, new legs, mind you, but still.

If these aren’t quite attention-getting enough for you, though, take a look at the python cutout boots:

What do you think of them? Reckon you could walk in them?

Tattoo print jumpsuit by Acne: because looking like you’re naked is SO this season…

tattoo print jumpsuit Tattoo print jumpsuit by Acne: because looking like youre naked is SO this season...

A sheer jersey, flesh-coloured (Well, sort-of, depending on the colour of your flesh) body-suit, designed to make you look like you’re naked but for your tattoos.

We think Acne may well have excelled themselves with this one, no?

Actually, what’s most amazing about this little beauty is the brand’s suggestion on how to wear it. “Wear it layered with a dress or maybe a blazer,” advise the good people at Acne. OK, the dress we could live with: it wouldn’t be our choice of clothing, granted, but it wouldn’t necessarily be too awful, either. But a BLAZER? And nothing else? Are you TRYING to get people arrested (by us) here, Acne? Or did you just think you were speaking only to Lady Gaga when you made that suggestion?

This is £155 from Acne, and there’s also a bodysuit version available.

(Good to see those Gemini shoes make an appearance here, too! A double-whammy!)

Celebrity Style on Trial: Sarah Jessica Parker at the ShoWest Final Night Talent Awards

LFI SHOWWESTAWARDS027 Celebrity Style on Trial: Sarah Jessica Parker at the ShoWest Final Night Talent Awards

Poor Sarah Jessica Parker is probably going to spend the rest of her career trying to live up to the “fashionista” tag her character Carrie Bradshaw earned on Sex and the City. Perhaps that’s why she decided to wear this particular dress to the ShoWest Final Night Talent Awards in Vegas this weekend: maybe it’s an attempt to be a bit “edgy” and “creative”? Or maybe not.

What do you think, ladies and gentlemen of the Fashion Police jury? SJP stands before you, awaiting your verdict. Will you set her free, or will you send her down, to the Fashion Police jail? Tell us!

The Thrash Leggings by Tripp NYC: definitely not pants

tripp nyc leggings The Thrash Leggings by Tripp NYC: definitely not pantsAs regular readers are probably aware, The Fashion Police don’t think ANY leggings should be worn as pants: or at least, not without an appropriately crotch-covering top, anyway.

We’re particularly keen not to see these Tripp NYC leggings worn as pants, though. We’re going to assume the reasons for that are obvious. We just know someone’s going to do it, though: will it be you?

Sneakers: now with added peep toe

peep toe sneakers Sneakers: now with added peep toe

We’ve talked a lot recently about the scourge of peep toe boots that’s been afflicting the fashionable world, recently. Rather than getting better, however, we’re sad to report that things are only getting worse, and now it would seem that even the humble sneaker is not safe from the attack of the peep toe. These Ash high-tops, for instance, were just innocent shoes until someone came along and ripped their toes off: now they join the rank of the peep toe boots, and they’ll never be the same again. Especially the denim ones.

What do you think of this development, readers? Do you think peep-toe sneakers are actually a pretty good idea, for those who want to wear them in summer without over-heating? Or do peep toes have no place on this kind of shoe?
