It’s one of the most eagerly-anticipated collections of New York Fashion Week, but will Marc Jacobs’ Fall 2010 collection impress you any more than some of the other designers we’ve shown you this week? Take a look at the gallery to find out!
They’re Louise Goldin’s shoe collection for Topshop, and we showed you some pictures of the original design a few months ago. Well, those of you who loved them will be pleased to know that they’re now available, both in-store and online, but probably not for long: there are a lot of shoe-lovers out there who’ve been eagerly awaiting this release, so if you’re one of them, we’d recommend acting fast, before they sell out and then pop up on eBay for twice the price.
As for the price, these will set you back £150 per pair: get them here.
We haven’t had a good old fashioned Star Style War for a while around here, so when we spotted Carmen Electra (left) and Taylor Swift (right) wearing the same dress, albeit not at the same time, we couldn’t resist putting them in the ring and letting them duke it out. In a style sense, we mean.
The different climates our stars have had to contend with here may well skew the voting slightly: Carmen Electra is pictured attending New York Fashion Week, while Taylor Swift is in the balmier temperatures of California. Taylor also looks like the hem of her dress has been taken up: or perhaps Carmen’s has been let down, who knows?
Which do you prefer, readers? Who do you think wore this floral dress better?
When we first spotted this photo of Sophia Bush wearing a navy, polka dot jacket at New York Fashion Week, we were sure the jacket in question was this one from Dorothy Perkins, which we’ve had our eyes on ever since it appeared on the website.
A closer look at Sophia’s jacket reveals that she hasn’t actually been shopping at Dotty P’s: her jacket is double-breasted, and a little boxier than the budget version, but the look is definitely similar. Like stripes, polka dots tend to start flooding back into the stores at around this time every year, but there’s been a particularly large influx of them this year. If you want to steal Sophia’s style, this jacket is £40, and is also available in black. Get it here.
Yes, folks, Lady Gaga is on your screens, and she’s managing to out-Gaga even herself again, which can mean only one thing… Well, actually, in Gaga’s case it could probably mean a LOT of things, but tonight it means it’s time for the Brit Awards (The UK’s version of the Grammys, basically), so get comfortable, take a look at our gallery and tell us whose looks you love and loathe!
(NOTE: This gallery will be updated as more images come in, so you may want to check back later!)
Well, judging by the comments on our latest Style Challenge, Vivienne Westwood’s Rocking Horse shoes are definitely one of the tricker items we’ve given you to style! We were pleased to see so many of you accepting the challenge, though, and we think you did pretty well!
Read on to see the first selection of entries, and remember to vote for you favourite in the poll you’ll find at the bottom of the post!
These bracelet sandals (“Brandals”?) By Sigerson Morrison are basically what it would look like if you tried to wear Slinky on your legs. Don’t try that at home kids: at least the sandals come with a zip up the back of the leg, to save you spending hours of your life trying to get into them. There is, however, a downside to the “brandal”. In fact, there are three:
1. TAN LINES. Do we even have to say it? And not just tan lines, either: if you’ve ever removed a pair of socks, say, and found the imprint of the elastic in them on your skin, you can probably imagine what your legs would look like when you removed THESE.
2. Is this going to be the gladiator sandal of 2010? Are we going to start seeing these everywhere, on everyone? And how do you feel about that, if so?
3. Now that we take a closer look, we think they look less like a Slinky, and more like the model just put a bunch of hair elastics on her legs. Hmm.
What do you think of these, readers? If you love them, they’re $695 at Neiman Marcus.
