Leona Lewis has often been criticized by the fashion press for being beautiful but boring. At last, though, she seems to be starting to take some tentative steps away from the safety net, with some, er, “interesting” choices of outfit. Her appearance at the Brit Awards this week, and now at the Harper’s Bazaar party, both saw Leona looking a little bit “edgier” than we’re used to, and she opted to emphasise her shoulders both times – first in that dramatic silver William Tempest number at the Brits, and now in the black be-winged mini dress you see above.
We appreciate the effort to stand out more, but feel that Leona never really looks comfortable, regardless of what she’s wearing, and that tends to spoil the whole look. What do you think of this dress? A step in the right direction, or do you think Leona looked just fine in the more classic gowns she’s gone for in the past?
Dress of the Day comes to life, as Michelle Williams turns up at the Shutter Island advance screening in this white Lanvin dress, which we featured just a few days ago.
This dress also made an appearance in the March issue of UK Vogue, and we like it a little more each time we see it. What do you think of Michelle’s look here?
Wow, a leather jumpsuit! A FLARED leather jumpsuit! That’s… different. We would’ve expected AnnaLynne McCord to have gone for something a little tighter on the legs, but here she is at the advance screening of Shutter Island last night, looking very…leathery. This girls seems to have the confidence to wear and enjoy more or less anything, though, so what do you think of this look on her?
Ever since Alexa Chung appeared on the cover of UK Vogue’s March issue, one thing was clear: clogs were on the way back “in”.
Is this a good thing or a bad thing, we ask ourselves? Well, we’ve never really been huge fans of the clog, but at the same time, we wouldn’t slap these particular ones in jail either, so you could say we’re on the fence on this one.
What we DEFINITELY wouldn’t do, though, is pay Chanel prices for shoes like this. So it’s a good job we don’t have to, because if we did suddenly decide we couldn’t last one more day without a pair of Alexa-like heeled clogs on our hooves, at least we know ASOS are selling these ones for £85. No, they’re not Chanel, and nor do they look it, but if you really like this look, at least they’ll save you a bit of money.
Oh look, it’s a window for your boobs! Never again will they be forced to hide themselves away behind pesky fabric, and miss out on what’s happening in the world, for they will both see and be seen from behind the mesh panel of this Topshop sweater! Awesome!
OK, let’s be sensible for a minute: obviously this sweater isn’t actually supposed to be worn with nothing underneath (or, we would hope, with just your regular underwear underneath, either), so what do you think of it? Is it actually quite an interesting idea, allowing you to combine the practicality of a sweater with something a little more exciting underneath? Is it the ideal solution to those days when it’s too cold to wear your favourite, strappy top on its own, but you don’t want to have to hide it under knitwear? Or is it just a sweater with a pointless window in it? Tell us!
