Fashion Police Glossary: Skapris – the alliance of skirts and capris

Skirt + Capri = Skapri

Now, we’re not saying these are a crime of fashion, exactly. They’re sportswear, after all, and we can kinda see how you’d prefer to have your ladybits covered while wearing tight capri pants, even if it does mean involving yourself in the shady world of stuck together clothes.

No comment on the item of clothing itself, then, but, in the interests of keeping our Glossary up-to-date, we thought it was worth noting that a new word has entered the fashion lexicon, and that word is “Skapri”. As you can see above, a “skapri” is what you get when you stick a skirt┬áto a pair of capri pants: cunning, no?

Well, we guess it’s only appropriate that stuck-together-clothes have a name made up of stuck-together-words, isn’t it?

If you want to buy the item in question, it’s by Nike and it’s available from their website, here.

They remind of when I was Kindergarten and it was so cool to wear your netball skirt over your sport pants. Luckily they weren’t stuck together and I was in Kindergarten so I had an excuse for my er, interesting dressing.

I see the point of these. They’d be nice for runners, in particular, so they can concentrate on things like their form and where they’re stepping, rather than whether or not someone is staring at their tush.

Heh I know EXACTLY what you’re talking about, Lauren…I remember wearing that sort of outfit and feeling QUITE stylish!

I feel very understanding towards this “skapri” a very nice item for the more self conscious among us who like to go for a run or walk without being leered at. BUT i feel it necessary to say that under any other circumstances this would not be ok. Hear that, designer people? NOT OK!

I can totally understand. You can avoid a horrible camel toe which, I do hope I speak for everyone, is my #1 fashion priority when running in tight pants.

Totally. I was out running in the summer and realised whilst cooling down that with the repeated washings they had gone a little bit see through..bare bottoms ahoy half a mile from home.
Not ok any other time though..

When I first saw “skapris”, I thought you meant “sheer capris”. This isn’t as bad, though…
