Shoulder pads: now even uglier

There’s good news and there’s bad news, readers.

The good news: Wearing shoulder pads inside your clothes is, like, SO last season, seriously.

The bad news: This season you’ll be expected to wear them outside your clothes instead. If they can be covered in studs too, well, so much the better.

Convinced? This is £77.52 and available now for pre-order at My Catwalk.

  1. I warned you all about this. I’m a child of the 80s, I’ve lived through the shoulder pad once and now they’re back. Well maybe you’ll take heed now. This is going to get a whole lot uglier.

  2. This could be a good look if you like to push the envelope of fashion.

I follow a blog of a woman who designs spiked shoulder gear that is great for the Goth set and looks much better than the white “American football shoulder pad” looking ones in this photo.

You have to have the right look to pull of this type of thing and sadly, the model in this photo does not and the style is awful of the ones she is wearing.

    • The second sentence of that is completely true.

      However.

It is not attractive to look at.

The shoulder pads look like cardboard soap dishes for a tragic school play. They protrude and they are studded.

This may be some subversive response to Balmainia or Michael Jackson or the 80s. But it is unattractive.

  3. I’m not sure what looks more ridiculous – the glasses or the horrible t shirt. But seriously, do these designers even look at what they make or are they just slaves to trends from catwalks in the hope that someone might buy them
