Anna Paquin had no visible means of support in this gold Stella McCartney dress, but that’s OK, because our officers were too distracted by her clumpy shoes (not seen here, unfortunately, as our image agency didn’t have a shot of them) to pay much attention to the dress, and the reflection of the sunlight on the gold gown made for a pretty dazzling (literally) entrance for Anna, too. A dress like this one just screams “Look at me!” Well, we got you to look: now we want to know what you think!
Well, that’s a lot of ruffles, isn’t it? Looks to us like Christina Hendricks’ dress mated with Chloe Sevigny’s, and this was the result! This is House star Jennifer Morrison, and the dress is by Luis Antonio: what do you think?
One of the few celebrities to go for a short dress rather than the usual floor-length gowns we tend to see on the red carpet, Ginnifer Goodwin wore this bright blue Vionnet dress to last night’s Golden Globes. We love the colour of this, but are less enamoured with the slightly saggy shape. Still, nice to see something just a little bit different, don’t you think?
Just in case you were getting bored of all the pale gowns at this year’s Golden Globes, here’s a quick splash of colour, courtesy of Maria Menounos in this bright red Romona Keveza dress. This dress is almost a “mullet” – short in the front, long at the back: what do you think of it?
Leave it to Chloe Sevigny to provide the first ”love it or hate it” moment of the night for us. We’ll give credit where it’s due here, and admit that this Valentino gown actually looks much better here than we would’ve imagined from the photos of it on the catwalk last year, but we’re still not convinced this isn’t just a few ruffles too many. Then again, from some angles we think it looks absolutely stunning. What do you think, jurors?
We really like the cut of January Jones’ Lanvin gown, but unfortunately the black colour is doing a pretty good job of hiding all that’s wonderful about it: and the slightly creased look in this photo isn’t helping much, either. We think this would’ve been stunning in a different colour: as it is, though, we’d have to give it ‘could’ve been so much better”. What about you?
Yet another nearly-nude dress, but yet another winner, as far as we’re concerned: the slight shimmer on Drew Barrymore’s Atelier Versace dress adds an extra dose of glamour, and makes it look a little bit ethereal: we know some of you will object to the “growths” at her hip and shoulder, though, so tell us what you think in the comments!
Another one for our Best Dresses files: beautiful Christina Hendricks in this peach coloured gown by Christian Siriano. Pale skin can look washed out in a shade like this, but Christina’s actually seems to glow in this gown, which shows off her figure perfectly. What do you think?
