Every so often, a “fashion crime” comes along that makes us think, “Wow! We really hope this catches on, purely for the humour value in seeing everyone walk around wearing it!”
Topshop’s pointy hood hat is one of those items. Just imagine the sight of a street full of people, all wearing tall, pointed bishop’s hats, and perhaps looking a little bit like they might have tall, pointy heads underneath. Awesome.
If you want to join in the fun, these are £16 from Topshop.

Sadly there are photos of me wearing such a hat, as a child during the 70′s. the hat, along with those photos, belongs in a steel box buried at the bottom of the garden.
Actaully I like it, I may have to knit one in a brighter colour.

I hope it comes in red, so i can aim for the little-red-riding-hood look – NOT
I looked at it for a whole minute wondering ‘How do you wear it?’
Why does it have a tail?

I don’t understand how to wear it either…
Nor do I. I even did the head tilt, “did they maybe get this flipped somehow?”, try-to-make-sense-of-it motions. I came up empty, if you’re wondering.
I’m trying to think of something funny to say that it looks like, but I honest to goodness have nothing. It is a brown, chunky knit, goofily shaped hat with a tail. There’s really no more that you can say about the thing that’s more descriptive, since the whole thing makes insufficient sense to get the point across.
And as soon as I scrolled back up, I kinda saw it. The point goes toward the back/top of the head, and the ‘tail’ is a chin tie. Would’ve made a bit more sense to have a picture of the thing being worn, but alas, it wouldn’t make it any more attractive.
…then again…perhaps a pompom on the end, and a brighter color?
They should be green. Does anyone else think of Link when they look at this?
Haha, I thought of Link, too!!
HEY! It’s a pixie hat! And on naturally adorable people, it is incredibly sweet. Gotta disagree with you for once, my beloved.
