At first we were confused by this item (which, by the way, comes with long sleeves, too. You know, to keep you warm?), wondering what on earth could be its purpose. And then we realised: it’s to allow you to show off your black bra, whilst still claiming to be wearing “clothes”. Genius! And also: classy!
We had hoped this was an isolated incident, but our policing of the retail world this week suggests that we are, in fact, dealing with an outbreak of the lace bodysuits, probably as part of the larger “must show your underwear at all times” movement. If you want to be part of it, this is £11.99 at Ark Clothing, and apparently best worn with acid wash jeggings.

This item makes it appear as though boudoir chic were back.
Free People has long-sleeved ones all over their catalogue. Personally, I like them. As a LAYERING PIECE. Over a cami and under a vest, or under a looser tank top, or whatever.
yeah, i agree, it should definitely only be worn as layering. and if it is, then it will be quite cute:)
I would definitely wear this under a classy black jacket or even a tuxedo. With a tie. Fashion crime? So what

i was more frightened by the acid washed jeggings than the lace part personally….the lace could be redeemed by adding a cami or tank top
there is nothing to do to redeem acid wash jeggings however…just toss em in the bonfire
It’s definitely gorgeous, when you layer it it, but some people will never get this and we will have streets full of exposed underwear… Some people just uses every excuse to show their naked body around and call it fashion!

I actually have a lace bodysuit I bought ages ago from cheap monday. It’s great for putting under dresses that are too low cut to wear by themselves but look odd with traditional tank tops (actually, that’s why I bought it). But mine had a built in bra-shelf thing, so you couldn’t see the bra through even if you wore it alone. I don’t like these completely sheer ones.
I like it! Looks good with pretty and bright bras
i have a brown one but i’ve yet to wear it…i’m still not sure how exactly to wear it, i have to think about it a little more
I have two similar tops, but I wear them over camis.
I don’t believe anything worn underneath could save this. It’s see through AND lace!
Instantly, I would associate this to white trash, and the concerning part of it is, I think this will appeal, mostly to young girls!
With sleeves under a maxi dress then it could look quite effective.
um. I’m seeing a lot of this here: http://nowaygirl.com/latest-fashion/women-are-getting-real-brave-with-these-outfits-nowadays/
maybe they didn’t get the layering memo?
