Tripp NYC Ace of Dimes ripped jeans – for “interesting” tan lines

tripp-nyc-ripped-jeansThe Fashion Police hold these truths to be self-evident:

1. That no one’s flesh looks good pooling out of multiple holes in the fabric of their clothes. No, not even models.

2. That “creatively” ripped jeans always end up looking like you left your clothes in the care of a particularly malicious teenager with a pair of scissors.

3. That these will create some pretty interesting tan lines if you wear them in summer. In winter, welcome to pale blue, mottled flesh. Lovely.

The Fashion Police are starting to feel increasingly alone in this, however, and Tripp NYC in particular seem hell-bent on proving to us that if they make ugly jeans, people will buy them. If you’re one of those people, these are $48 from Karmaloop.

    FUGLY.

That is all my brain thinks when looking at these.

  2. Rock Hyrax says:

Looks like one of those suggestions in old Arts & Crafts books for children on how to have creative fun with an old pair of trousers (but make sure you have the owner’s permission first)…

  3. EricB says:

Do they look like that from the back as well? Calling these “jeans” is a bit hyperbolical, though. “Walking art” would fit better I think.

  4. FashionisMe says:

If I had to own these, I would wear a pair of contrasting leggings underneath and a t-shirt that was the same shade as the leggings.

One might think that if you wear bright tights under ripped anything it will make you look sort of cool. That is not the case with these. They creep me out.

  6. Romanticide says:

No one can look good in these, NO ONE.

I have never been a fan of anything Tripp NYC (poor designs, emphasized by even poorer construction), but these are just…stupid. This is what “edgy” high school girls try to wear (and I mean try, because they can’t be pulled off) to be “out there”, most likely with neon green tights and a band shirt from some 80’s band they’ve never even heard of. Actually, add those fugly knee high converse and bad make-up to the mix and this embodies the fashion of everyone around me senior year.

  8. Hoshi says:

Now, now, I don’t think even we teens would do this to an innocent pair of jeans…

  9. Chey says:

personally i think they are fine…i would wear them with some brightly colored leggings under them and if they flared at the bottom..can’t stand skinny jeans…they are very different…but just because they are different doesn’t mean they are bad…but no way do they look good just over skin…ugh.
