Sequins inflitrate the world of knitwear: Topshop’s gold sequin sweater
When we first laid eyes on this sweater, we must admit, we didn’t know WHAT to think. It was almost as if the sheer shininess of it had a kind of stunning effect on us, which wiped all thoughts from our minds and left us just staring there at the sweater, and maybe dribbling slightly.
Now that we’ve recovered, we… well, actually, we STILL don’t know what to think. We’re tempted to view this as a particularly flamboyant breed of Christmas sweater, but of course, it could just be further evidence of the current fashion ruling stating that everything must be covered in sequins at all times, OR ELSE.
What do you think of it, readers? If you like it, it’s £60 at Topshop.
Looks… itchy
This golden piece immediately makes me think of this funny comedian / hip hop artist, Leslie Hall, the self-proclaimed Queen of gem sweaters.
Knit… chainmail?
I think it looks like an armor/shield gone horribly wrong
I love sequins, I always have .. But only when spicing up an outfit, not overruling it..
Plus, it’s just too easy, isn’t it.. Sequins are in, hey lets cover a shirt in ‘em, it’s just not simple and classy enought to pull it off!
It’s so ridiculous I almost love it. The key word there is “almost.”

I’m a person who hates sequins on tank tops and other items to begin with. This is just too much.
Two months late but a necessary comment, I think. If this little number is backless, that changes everything. Paired with sateen jeans, a casual updo, minimal accessories (no more gold!) and I’d shimmie into it in a heartbeat. Now this is granted it’s backless and more blousey than sweatshirty.
