Tigers seem to be having a bit of a fashion “moment” right now.
It must be nice for them. It’s normally leopards who get to have their print emblazoned on everything, but while there’s a lot of that around too at the moment, our force have noticed an increase in the number of t-shirts, tank tops and, er, body suits, with giant tiger faces on them.
This trend feels like another throwback to the 80s: there were a fair few tigers around then, too, and that makes us find it hard to see this kind of thing as anything other than tacky, but of course, that could just be our anti-80s radar talking. What do you think? Will you be walking around with a giant tiger on your chest this winter, or do you want us to cuff ‘em?

Sweatpants. They’re not the first things that come to mind when we hear the words “glamour”, or, indeed “sequins”, but those associations were clearly present for the designers at Haute Hippie, who decided that sequin-encrusted sweats were just what the doctor ordered.
They were also present at UK Vogue this month, who say the sweatpant is THE trouser to be seen in at the moment (And not just sequined ones, either), although they must always, always be worn with heel.
We’re surprised to note that we don’t actually hate these, but we can’t imagine wearing them, either. Can you? If so, they’ll cost you a little more than most sweatpants: they’re $295 at Shopbop.
Of all of the stuck-together-clothes, in all the closets, in all the world, we think there should be a special place in the Fashion Police jail for the trousers that are attached to skirts. In short, we hate this look. Because it’s not 1994 any more, you know? And even if it was, why would you do this? Trousers with attached tulip skirt? Really, Martin Margiela?
Such is our dislike of these items, we think they need their own blended name, a la “jeggings” and “shresses”. We think we’re going to call them “Skousers”. Not to be confused with “Scousers”, of course:
A scouser
It’s official, then: we’ve created our very own “blended fashion” word! We feel kind of dirty now, to be honest.
Rihanna was named one of Glamour Magazine’s Women of the Year last night, honoured both for her career and for her “bravery” following her assault by Chris Brown earlier this year.
Our interest in this matter, of course, lies not in the award itself, but in what Rihanna was wearing as she accepted it – in this case, a floor-length Stephanie Rolland gown that made the Fashion Police give a little gasp as soon as we laid eyes on it.
Were we gasping in horror or delight? We’re not going to tell you. Instead, we’re going to leave it up to YOU to tell US what you think of this outfit? She may be Woman of the Year, but does Rihanna win Best Dressed of the Year for this one? You decide…
Would you pay £6,810 / $11,379 for this Hervé Léger dress? Someone obviously would, because no sooner had it appeared in Net-a-Porter’s “What’s New” section, it was sold out. Of course, that could just mean they only ever had one dress in stock, in which case, who wants to place bets on which celebrity bought it? Our money’s on Victoria Beckham.
To be fair, the separate sleeve does give you two outfits for the price of one: or one outfit and a fraction of another one, anyway. Wear the sleeve with jeans for a “edgy” yet casual look! Tie it around your neck and call it a scarf! Switch it to your OTHER arm to mix things up a little! Or… no, actually, that’s it.
As we said, it’s now sold out, but don’t despair – click here to add it to your Wish List and be notified when more stock arrives!
We love red on winter coats. There’s nothing like a bright splash of colour on a dull winter day to make you feel that little bit more cheerful, and there’s also something very festive about the colour, although hopefully not too festive: we wouldn’t want to be accused of taking style tips from Father Christmas, after all.
This coat from Miss Selfridge combines a classic shape with a great colour and some cute little ruffles – it’s £65 and you can buy it here.
