Remember Marks & Spencer’s 125 Collection? The one with all of the vintage-style dresses and other clothes inspired by designs from the brand’s archive? Well, there’s another one. It’s called the Commemorative Collection, and, like the 125 Collection, it’s been released as part of the M&S 125th birthday celebrations.
This collection is also just chock-full of vintage-inspired fashion and lingerie, with styles coming from the 1940s – 1980s. It launches today and is available via the Marks & Spencer website. We’re still feeling the retro lingerie love we mentioned earlier this week, so we can’t wait to get our hands on some of this stuff…
Yes, this is a Fashion Police Checkpoint, so before you can continue with your day, we’re going to have to insist that you step to the side and tell us exactly what you’re wearing right now. As in rightthisverysecond. No cheating allowed – although if you like, you can always come back and tell us what you’re wearing tomorrow, too. We’re nosey like that.
When we talked about animal print faux fur earlier this week, some of you were of the opinion that it really only works – if it works at all – on younger women. Whatever your postion on that, though, we’d like to suggest that pink fur, on the other hand, doesn’t really look good on women of any age. Sorry, Lindsay.
We’d also like to suggest that when Donatella Versace could be your slightly older sister, it’s probably a good idea to tale a step away from the peroxide. And speaking of Donatella Versace:
Well, thank goodness for this. Because if there HADN’T been a way to marry the worlds of velour and playsuits, AND to make their wearer look nude, but saggy, we just don’t know how we could’ve gone on living.
We are, however, confused by this garment. The velour fabric and elasticated waist seems to say “slobbing out at home”, but the strapless top says “party time!” In the same way, the bottom of the garment says “cosy” but the top says “It’s a bit nippy in here, innit? I wish I had something to cover my shoulders!”
Any ideas? Where would you wear this? Or perhaps a better question: WOULD you wear this?
When we showed you Arnsdorf’s jersey bra dress yesterday, we figured that at least it would probably be the most revealing dress we’d have to look at all week.
We were wrong: Sass & Bide’s ‘Cross Your Heart’ dress has it well and truly beat – especially when you consider that the monokini you can see underneath (and thank God for that monokini, thank God for it!) isn’t actually a part of it. Yes.
Just in case you thought it was safe to go back into the shops, here’s the proof that it isn’t: Andrea Crews’ £254 cheetah harem pants. The harem threat isn’t over yet, it would appear.
We think the back view of these is particularly awesome, don’t you? Who doesn’t love some, saggy, cheetah-print butt on a Wednesday morning?
We normally can’t resist starting a Style War when we see two celebrities dressed identically, but our tongues are firmly in our cheeks with this one, because Miley Cyrus and Kim attrall are pictured here during filming of the next Sex & the City movie, in which Miley apparently plays herself. In this scene, she and Kim’s character, Samantha, turn up at the same event in the same outfit – the horror!
Even although it’s not for real, we’re going to ask anyway: who Wins the Style War? Fifty-three year old Kim or 16-year-old Miley? We actually don’t think the answer’s as obvious as it would appear on paper….
