Oh, those wacky celebrities, eh! What a bunch of jokers they are to be sure! Here’s Stacy Haiduk bringing a slightly surreal touch to the Daytime Emmy awards this weekend, with a “cat” purse that made us do a double-take when first we seen it, so life-like does it look. (Well, from a distance, anyway.)
It definitely makes a change from all the sparkly clutch bags we usually see at these events, but would you carry your lipstick and keys inside a cat? One more picture under the jump, to help you make up your mind…
Well I’m a cat person, so this is nauseating to me, but I suppose it’s no worse than those dog bags we’ve been seeing, at least here in America.

Well, I was totally creeped out, but I just found another article that says this:
“Stacy’s character on ‘The Young and the Restless’ is a Crazy McCrazy who thinks her dead cat is a real one. The stuffed cat she brought to the Emmys tonight is also the one she uses on the show.”

I would be very, very surprised if it was a “dead cat”. Fairly sure it’s just a realistic looking toy.

No, look… she has a normal clutch in her right hand. Which can only mean… she’s bringing the cat along just for fun. Like when you’re 6 and you want to bring your teddy to the restaurant with you.
Yeah, that’s obviously not a cat purse; she’s just carrying around a fake cat. Not sure if it makes it any better, though.

I feel that this… umm, accessory… should be carried in the crook of the arm as if it were a real, live, cat. Or given its pose, perhaps on the shoulders? Better yet, bring an actual cat. Paris Hilton hauls her dog around everywhere, after all.

ok, that has got to be one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever seen in my life.
Honestly, there’s nothing disgusting about this particular display.
A little bizarre, and decidedly off-putting for many, but carrying around a generally lifelike toy cat isn’t anything to get into an uproar over.
And, as mentioned above, we carry around a variety of treated animal skin and even wear it for clothing. It isn’t any more or less heinous based on whether there’s still fur attached.
That all said, I doubt I’d be found carrying such an item any time in the foreseeable future.

I really don’t understand why everyones getting so peaved by this…
the point being, as a few before me have already made, that I’m sure many of those so offended by this, would happily carry leather bags…even if this toy cat were real, how is that any better, just as it isn’t shaped like a cow???
I think it’s awesome – full props to her for taking on screen madness to the awards. Makes me wish our UK soaps were a bit more like the American ones – I remember being utterly addicted to sunset beach in its day.
Wow people…it’s no worse than any other stuffed fake cats. And besides, like someone already pointed out, if you know anything about the show, this is a PROP. Her character on the soap had a fake cat because she’s crazy. Her bringing this to the Daytime Emmy’s is just funny, and shows no lack of taste.
Lighten up, will ya guys? It’s not like she would consider going out with this in any other context.
I think its cute but, shes not using it as a purse, and I’d keep it as a decoration
