When we wrote about Maison Michael’s Minnie Mouse headband earlier this month, a couple of you wrote to tell us that while it may well have been a case of Daylight Robbery, at least there was no mystery about who would wear it, because Lady Gaga had already been spotted in it. OF COURSE she had. Actually, we could probably answer almost every “Who would wear THIS?” question we come against in the course of our fashion policing work with the simple answer, “Lady Gaga would wear it.” At least it helps keep life simple…
We’ve been seeing a lot of cage skirts cropping up this season, but if you’ve been looking for the perfect item to wear with one, Fashion Police reader Georgette has the ideal solution for you: Savant’s Bandage Bralette, which at $195 seems an ideal candidate for Daylight Robbery.
We’re assuming no one (well, no one except Lady Gaga, obviously) would wear these in public as shown in the image on the right, but would you wear the bra over a t-shirt? Would you wear it at all? If you would, you can buy it here.
The Fashion Police are really happy to see Melrose Place back on our screens – not just because we were closet fans back in the 90s (although our hearts always belonged to Beverly Hills 90210), but because it’s yet another show that’s sure to bring us lots of fashion to love and loathe.
Read on to see what the stars of the show wore to the launch party – and don’t forget to tell us what you think of their outfits!
We don’t think we can explain this any better than the makers of these pants, so from the Winkers official website:
“Winkers is a new business just starting up. We decorate pants, usually jeans, in such a manner that they WINK as you walk. That is, the crease between your buttock and the top of your leg WINKS for you.”
Well, that’s just… just… Yeah. Because Winkers are handmade just for you, the price depends on what you’re having done, but if you’d like to know more (and see videos of the winking in action), just visit the website. Apparently some dresses can “wink too”. Imagine that!
Kudos to Officer Emma for this excellent bit of Fraud Squad detective work! The Majae ‘Jelica’ bag on the left of the image above is an older design and now out of stock at Net-a-Porter, where it was selling for £105, but Emma wasn’t the only one to remember it: looks like Sportsgirl have some fond memories of it too, because their ‘Zimba’ clutch certainly bears a startling resemblance to it, no?
The colours on the Sportsgirl back are less vivid, but the pattern is more or less identical. The price, not so much: this is $59.99 AUD.
These jackets have a bit of a Photoshopped feel to them, but rest assured, if they have been ‘shopped, it wasn’t done by us: The Fashion Police don’t like to tamper with the evidence, and even if we did, we don’t think we could make these any uglier if we tried. Or any more expensive, actually: these are $1,777 each, which means we can convict them on three counts:
Three strikes means you’re out in our world: or rather you’re IN the Fashion Police jail, so we have no hesitation in convicting these jackets of Crimes of Fashion. Bail is set at the aforementioned $1,777, payable to Colette.
Looks like Marc Jacobs has called in some expert help for his next collection. It’s… Miss Piggy! Man, but those Muppets are HOT right now.
(By ‘muppets’, we’re referring to the actual Muppets, you understand. We’re not just insulting Marc Jacobs.)
Jacobs has designed a special couture gown for Miss Piggy, which she’ll be wearing to Glamourama in Chicago. Which just goes to show: Marc doesn’t ONLY make clothes for skinny models. Oh hell to the no.
