I agree with Erika. As far as I’m concerned, simple dresses = lots of accessories, stand out dresses = can work on their own, or with only a few simple things.
I’m with Holly – I feel Roisin can pull off stuff others just cannot. Even looking a bit like the Ghost of Mickey Mouse…
And I hate hate HATE that bag.
I agree with some of the above sentiments.
The dress is fierce enough but she could’ve done with losing the headpiece, getting a better, smaller and less flash bag and getting some decent shoes.
I know it’s Dolce & Gabbana and I know we’re all supposed to love it but I just didn’t like any of this bit of the collection, except maybe the belts. It just seems like they’re trying too hard to do something new.
The Marilyn Monroe print dresses, however…
The sleeves aren’t the problem – it’s all the other stuff! The dress would have been enough plus maybe a tiny necklace or something really simple, but this looks like fancy dress to me. Too much, you don’t know where to look first and then you get a headache. Not good.
I don’t think I can ever love those sleeves on someone other than a cartoon mascot character.
And, as others have said, she really needs to lose the over-accessories.
It would be nice if she didn’t have a “take the damn picture already” expression, too, but that might just be me.
She looks like Mickey Mouse, but I forgive her because a) she’s Roisin Murphy, b) everything else is gorgeous, and c) at least it’s not harem pants.
i think the dress is kind of nifty, but she’s too over-accessorized for my taste. the dress would have worked better more simply styled.

This is a Dolce&Gabbana dress (I saw it in Vogue Italy, February 2009)… and it’s…….. horribleeee!!!!!!!
Seems a little “Queen of Hearts” to me…
Dress:good
Shoes:great
Necklace:no
Belt:no
Head thing:what is it a head band or a hat?
Purse:too big
She looks a bit old or is it just me?
Kill them with fire!!!!
And the only problem with this is… the sleeves?
I like it
I’m with Erika. The dress makes enough of a statement without swamping it with accessories.
Had kept everything else simple, and it would have worked.

It’s Minnie Mouse meets Madonna. Do not want!
