Dress of the Day: Miu Miu leather boned bustier dress

Miumiu lather boned bustier Dress of the Day: Miu Miu leather boned bustier dress

It's been on hiatus for a few weeks but today Dress of the Day is back – and with a bit of a bang too, seeing as today we're featuring this leather boned bustier dress by Miu Miu.

It's not a dress everyone will like. It's not a dress everyone would wear, even if they did like it: in fact, it's probably true to say that it's not a dress MOST of us would wear. And this is probably a moot point anyway, because it's £1,390, which doesn't exactly make it the bargain of the week.

If we WERE going to spend that much money on a dress, though, and if we COULD get away with skin-tight leather, and if we DID have somewhere we could wear it, well, this would be the skin-tight leather dress we'd buy.

If you would too, you can get it at Net-a-Porter.

They "made" you wear this? Sure, sweetie: that's what they ALL say when The Fashion Police catch up with them. That's what they all say…

Is it a shirt? Is it a dress? Is it a crime of fashion?

The fact that this garment is also unisex just makes it all the more awesome as far as we're concerned. Seriously, imagine a world in which everyone, both male and female, dressed like this!

Are you imagining it?

Yeah, so are we. We think we need to go and lie down.

On the plus side: er, it's probably comfortable. As long as you're not really hoping to use your arms too much.

Style on Trial: Roksanda Ilincic asymmetric ruffle dress

We absolutely love this dress. To look at, that is. (And possibly to touch. We don't know why, but it somehow looks like it would feel nice, no?) It really is a work of art, no? You can tell a whole lot of work has gone into creating those giant ruffles, and that's presumably one of the factors that justify the £2,205 price tag.

As for wearing it, though – well, that's a whole other matter altogether, and and we're tempted to think that we'd both look and feel like a flower with this on: and we don't mean that in a good way, unfortunately. We'd really love to see someone try it, though – and by "someone" we mean "someone other than a model". Models don't count.

What do you think, though? Do you love the look of this, or do you think it would make for a very expensive crime of fashion? Tell us!

Style Stealer: Kim Kardashian in Topshop’s ‘Cosmic’ shoulder dress

LFI POKER041 Style Stealer: Kim Kardashian in Topshops Cosmic shoulder dress

Kim Kardashian has been looking amazing lately, and hey, isn't it nice to know that, just this once, you can actually buy this actual dress, rather than some cheap copy of it? Or you can if you have a Topshop within visiting-distance, anyway, because this is sold out on the website, which means that if you like it, you're going to have to run the gauntlet of the store itself, and have a good old rummage for it.

It's Topshop's 'Cosmic' dress, which comes complete with some sticky-out shoulders which, as we're sure you all know, are this season's must have feature – thanks, Balmain! Luckily these ones aren't too extreme, and serve to give the dress some structure as opposed to making you look like an extra from Dynasty.

If you can find it, it'll cost you £38.

LFI LUNAR1 Red Carpet Patrol: the Louis Vuitton Celebration of The 40th Anniversary Of The Lunar Landing

Jessica Szohr

We have no idea what Louis Vuitton have to do with the lunar landing, but they threw a party to celebrate the 40th anniversary of it this week, and naturally the celebs took the opportunity to get their glad-rags on. We liked Gossip Girl Jessica Szohr's look here, with the very on-trend military jacket toughening up the floaty dress (great shoes, too!), but who do you think was the best dressed? More pics under the jump…

When floral print goes wrong. Really wrong.

Floral print dress When floral print goes wrong. Really wrong.

We just bet you're not looking at this dress and thinking, "£1,132, right there!" are you? Or even "Designed by Dolce & Gabbana".

In fact, if anything, you're probably thinking, "Ah, so THAT'S what happens when florals throw up!"

It looks like floral print threw up all over this dress, and while we're not adverse to a bit of floral at this time of year, we tend to think this looks like the perfect day dress for the madwoman in the attic. Who's probably the only person who'd pay over £1,000 for it – or even the £570 it's been reduced to at Yoox.

What do you think, readers? Is this the perfect avenue for your $917 or, you know… not?

Judith Leiber’s £5,000/ £8,000 rhinestone embellished jaguar clutch

Judith leiber clutch Judith Leibers £5,000/ £8,000 rhinestone embellished jaguar clutch

As soon as you hear the words "Judith Leiber clutch", you know you're talking about serious money. Like, "you could buy a second-hand car for that" kind of money.

Would you pay it, though?

This jaguar clutch bag Judith Leibers £5,000/ £8,000 rhinestone embellished jaguar clutch is covered in crystals and costs $5,015/$8,000, so even if we DID take it out somewhere we'd probably spent the whole night worrying about either losing it or being mugged. And on balance, we think we'd rather have the car.

What about you, though? Do you think this kind of thing is worth saving up for, or splashing out for if you happen to have a spare £5,000 burning a hole in your pocket? If you do, you can get it at Net-a-Porter Judith Leibers £5,000/ £8,000 rhinestone embellished jaguar clutch.
