Case Closed: Lindsay Lohan in knee-high gladiator sandals/cut-out boots
As Shoeperwoman has already noted, "gladiator sandals" may be the wrong way to describe these boots, but we're not quite sure what the RIGHT way is. What we do know is that they're exactly the kind of footwear we've had a file open on for quite some time now, as we've struggled to answer the question: who on earth would wear them?
Now, at least, we can close that case and give you the answer: it's Lindsay Lohan.

I think for a “gladiator boots” they’re not looking so bad. I might even like them =S
girlfriend is wearing them yes…but she wears nothing WELL…except maybe her smile
I kind of like these, actually. The straps are so close together that they don’t even resemble sandals.

I think the boots are ok. They don’t go with that dress, and the wearer needs to do something about that escaping pinky toe…
Lindsay wears the boots well here but I think it’ll be hard to pull off by anyone else.

Are you kidding me? Of all things to hate on, you hate these? These are the solution to stupid girls wearing winter boots in the summer! I was talking about these earlier!!! They are not “Gladiator Sandals”, they are “Summer Boots”. You call yourself “The Fashion Police”. Just because it’s got laces, doesn’t make it a gladiator sandal.
They’re great- FOR HER. This is a lot better than some of the crazy crap she’s worn.
Victoria- chill out! The text clearly states gladiator sandals probably isn’t the right way to describe them, but who cares what the are called enough with the hating!
Regardless if they are gladiator sandals or “summer boots” they are still ugly.
Yeah, I knew “gladiator boots” wasn’t the right description (which is why I said – twice – that I realised it was wrong), but I totally couldn’t think of the right way to describe these – lol!
I think Victoria possibly takes this site a litle too seriously: yes, we do call ourselves “The Fashion Police” – well observed, Victoria! – but I think most people realise that it’s all tounge-in-cheek, and meant to be light-hearted. No “hating on” stuff here (God, I hate that expression!)- I put these things up as discussion points, and hope people will feel free to exchange their opinions without getting wound up about it. That doesn’t always happen, unfortunately, but Victoria leaves comments like this on all of my sites, so I’m guessing there’s some kind of issue there other than the fact that she doesn’t like it when people don’t have exactly the same taste as her. *shrug*
I like the clothes and boots just on another person I don’t like her and think she looks like the drug addict she is. Also is that a shadow on her leg or did she get an uneven fake tan?
This look doesn’t convince me that there’s a good way to wear…what was it…Summer Boots? If she’s coming from the beach, I can forgive the lack of shorts or lower half covering of any sort, but I doubt that is the case, because anyone coming from the beach wouldn’t take the time to pull on knee-high gla…wait…SUMMER BOOTS, and lace them up. But Linds is the sort of sucker who falls for these fashion trends.

Perfect use! She took a rather ‘eh’ fashion object and made it look detailed, delicate, and completely appropriate. Bravo, Lindsay!
ps. I think the key to making these work is to give the boots center stage. Yup yup.
