Fashion's gone a little bit Serena Van Der Woodsen this season, and by that we mean: sequins. Lots of them.
Actually, it's only the cardigans that really remind us of Serena (although we wouldn't be surprised to see her in the leggings either), but for Autumn/Winter 09, our beloved designers haven't stopped there, and have given just about everything a liberal sprinkling of sequin. Dorothy Perkins, for instance, has a whole page of the stuff. Jackets and tops seem to have had the worst of it, but if you're a Shoeperwoman reader, you probably already know that sequined shoes are very much in evidence at the moment, too.
So, what do you think of this? Will you be getting your sequin on, or is this look just too OTT for your tastes? Tell us!

Hoorah! I love sequins!
I’m gaga over that black sequin blazer (no pun intended). Let me put it this way, I will not discount an article of clothing if it has sequins, like I would have 5 years ago. But, it still has to fit right and look smashing on me.
I love sequins but it depends on the item… for example, I’d never wear a full sequinned dress because that is a little OTT but these blazers in shops at the moment are very cute with a simple t-shirt and skinny black jeans. Sequin leggings are a big no no in my books though.
I love sparkles, so I’m optimistic about sequins, but there is definitely a limit. I think tops and shoes are about the only thing I want sequins on, and I think I would prefer demure colors in most cases.
looks like fish scales….
Great! My grandma’s clothes will be in style for the first time in years.
I wouldn’t say I’m a huge fan of sequins, but a little bit of discreet bling can certainly lift an outfit.
But it has to be done just so, or you wind up looking like an extra from Dynasty.
I can’t say that I like any of those. Though if I had to choose the worst, it would be the sequin tights. No. Just no.
I blame Michael Jackson, but honestly, that man could wear anything and make it look fierce as all hell.
I like things that sparkle. Bring on the sequins!
I’ve not been keen on sequins before, but I think the time is right for a little sparkle to lift us out of the gloom.
