The latest incarnation of harem pants, from Kookai

The good news is that the shape of harem pants is changing. The low, droopy crotches are slowly starting to disappear, and this can only be a good thing as far as The Fashion Police are concerned.
The bad news is that they're being replaced with these. Trousers that aren't really what we'd call "harem" style at all, but are just regular wide-legged pants… with an elasticated ankle.
We've already seen the elasticated ankle crop up on the 'Sultana pants' we featured earlier this month – these ones aren't nearly as baggy, but we reckon they're still pretty unflattering. What do you think?
If you love then, they're available from ASOS for £59.
Without the dropped crotch they are more genie pants rather than harem pants.
There was a trend not long ago (2003?) where women were wearing cargo pants with elasticated ankles (I remember Kylie making headlines when she wore them with stilettos).
These Kookai pants aren’t far off that look …
I… don’t hate these. I still wouldn’t wear them but I don’t think I’d tear my eyes out if I saw someone else in them. The removal of the awful dropped crotch does a lot for a pair of harem pants.
I’m with Steph, I just can’t hate these, though I know I ought to. They’ve got a cute waist and hip line, and the fact that they’ve got elastic ankles just…doesn’t bother me. I can’t explain why.
I like wide legged trousers, but I’m not sure how I feet about the elasticized ankle. They could grow on me.
They look like Princess Jasmine pants! They’re not bad, but I don’t know what sort of top I could wear with them (I don’t like the pink top the model is wearing with the pants)

These are cute- not so bad.
Now that’s better! hey, I’d even wear them on one of my “daring fashion statement” days.
these are actually quite cute capri-length ..
xoxo .
I think they’re cute.
They’re like a sophisticated version of nike pants.
That really doesn’t sound appealing. Ha.
These I actually would wear. The top is an absolute no-no but pants would pair up nicely with a simple tank top and maybe some wedge heels.
I for one absoulutly love them!!!
