We featured the New Look dress, on the right of this picture, as a Dress of the Day a few weeks ago, and the good news for those of you in the US and Canada is that we've managed to find an uncannily similar version at Forever 21. These are virtually identical except for the price: the New Look dress is £25, which works out to about $40, while the Forever 21 version is just $22.80. Aww, dress twins!
Cage skirts have been hugely popular across the fashion blogosphere over the last couple of years, and in the "real world" too, if this £45 cage skirt by Topshop Boutique is anything to go by: it sold out within a couple of days, so presumably there are lots of people currently walking around wearing one of these.
What we want to know is, are you one of them?
This skirt is, of course, much less alarming than it may look at first glance, because it's supposed to be worn over something else (leggings, other skirts, etc) rather than by itself, although we wouldn't be AT ALL surprised to see some people try and wear it on its own. Yes, Lady Gaga, we're looking at you.
What say you, readers: will you be working the cage skirt this season, or do you think it should be locked in a cage instead?
You have to hand it to Marc Jacobs: he's nothing if not inclusive. Who else, for instance, would think to design a dress specifically for people with one arm significantly longer than the other?
Oh no, wait, our mistake: it doesn't actually have one arm longer the other. It just LOOKS like it does:
And now that we see how it REALLY works, we can see our first assessment was wrong: this is clearly one of the new robes for the Hogwarts Quidditch team. As we said: inclusive! Thinks of everything! Charges through the nose for it too, apparently, because this sports-shirt/dress was originally priced at £935, before being reduced to a still eye-wateringly expensive £561. Tempted?
Sometimes when w look back on some of the items we've branded fashion crimes in the past, we find ourselves thinking that, well, in hindsight, they're not so bad, really. Generally this happens when we get so used to seeing a new trend that it starts to look commonplace, and rather than appearing fiendishly ugly, it just seems commonplace. (See: leggings)
Not this time, though.
No, we don't think we'll ever look back on Louis Vuitton's hideous mink bum bag/fanny pack (cruel to animals AND humans!) and think we were perhaps a little too harsh when we originally arrested it. And if we ever do, we'll gladly hang up our cuffs…
Sian Meades of Domestic Sluttery takes a look at some of the UK's best vintage fashion stores. Sian writes…
"My dream wardrobe is a huge walk-in affair and everything is ordered by colour. It looks pretty and there are just some days when you think “I really feel like wearing fuchsia.” The clever people behind Blondie in East London clearly feel the same way. Everything is hung by colour! Hooray!
Blondie is actually a smaller extension of the vintage Mecca that is Absolute Vintage. I actually prefer this branch. There's something more exclusive about it and it feels much more 'boutiquey' than the warehouse branch around the corner.
And the shoes! If you come here for nothing else, come here for the shoes. Take a look at their virtual tour if you can watch it without getting dizzy. There's hundreds of pairs! All waiting for me to squeeze my size sixes into. You could spend a good couple in hours in here just looking at the fancy accessories. The really special Dior sunglasses are all locked away safely though, which is probably for the best.
Blondie is my first stop for vintage finds when I'm in East London. You can expect to pay around £40 for a tea dress and £15 for a clutch bag which is pretty good in my book. The Dior sunglasses are around £120 though, so I might have to save up a little bit longer for those."

When I first saw the name of this dress, I said to myself, "Please don't let it be in honor of Twitter!" Because that would just be ridiculous. Really. But… It's not, so hurray! Rather, it's more along the lines of "the birds were all atwitter," which is how everyone else will be (Atwitter, I mean. Not birds.), when you wear this dress. Pair it with some lovely black patent sandals or some low-key green wedges. It's black, so the possibilities for color are pretty much endless.
It also comes in pink, and you can find it here at Anthropologie, for $118. Somebody richer than I, please buy it.

No, you didn't fall asleep and sleep right through to Halloween, these are from the new line from Delfina Delettrez Fendi – and, needless to say, we want to know what you think of it. We'd normally find skeleton hands just a little bit creepy, but in this case we think they may actually be a little bit cool, too, and we just can't decide which side wins.
As regular readers will know, Chrstian Louboutin is a little bit like a God to us, but these shoes… well, they kinda look like they're wearing a wig, no? An afro wig. Is anyone else seeing that, or is it just us?
