Impostor Alert! Vivienne Westwood’s Granny Strap Boots-Pretending-to-be-Socks
Oh, Vivienne Westwood, why? Why would you do this? Not only are these Footwear Impostors – Boots-Pretending-to-be-Shoes-and-Socks – they're ugly boots, pretending to be ugly shoes and ugly socks. That's a triple whammy "ugly" right there, and as much as we love Vivienne Westwood, we don't think we can overlook this, and let these boots walk free.
If you disagree, and would like to liberate them from the Fashion Police jail, however, bail is set at £365, payable to Urban Outfitters.
I can’t help thinking they’d actually be decent (in a Westwood kind of way) if all the seperate bits weren’t such ugly colours; if it wasn’t so.. weird for the sake of being weird.
I don’t find them THAT offensive, though I have to admit that the particular shade of brown they used doesn’t fit with that blue, or whatever it is they call it. Wouldn’t wear them…
well they look like boots to me, not socks. It’s just…so summer right now, so boots don’t even begin to register in my mind as a wearable item. but I think over jeans, they’re not bad, if you like that western american look. I don’t, particularly.

this boot in a solid black or any color that wouldn’t be THAT shade of brown in a solid would make these super cute…but when i look at them as is…i think BLEAH
I like the idea of a wrap boot with buckles, but I don’t like those boots in particular. Not a fan of the fabric, or the style of the toe which does give it a weird shoe with sock look.
I would consider wearing them if they were flats…
Sorry to say, I actually like these! I kind of wish the shape was more flattering, but oh well.

I actually like them too.
But I’d probably like them better in plain brown.
Also its winter here so I have boots on the brain!
