Celebrity Style on Trial: Fergie’s cut-out mini dress at The Late Show with David Letterman

As you know, The Fashion Police generally aren't keen on clothes that look like something's just taken a giant bite out of them, because they tend to look to us like they're that way by accident rather than design. Plus, the potential for flesh sagging out of the holes is just too great.
With that said, we actually think Fergie is totally rocking this mini dress, worn to the Late Show this week. What do you think? (One more under the jump…)

she looks fabulous. Her hair goes with that green so nicely and she does have the body for it. I just wish the skirt were a tiny tiiiiny bit longer, because I’m not sure I’m in love with the look from behind. It looks like too much skin from the back. All in all though, she avoids looking like a porn star, and that’s remarkable in an outfit like that
Oooooo, is this a Pucci? I remember Kate Hudson wearing a similar design, which was by Pucci (sans teeth marks) in multicoloured sequins and it was glorious.
A beautiful dress, even allowing for the cut-outs which make Fergie look like a mermaid who’s had a nasty run-in with a Great White shark. I love the serpentine green ribbon effect, and the way it borders the cut-outs.
Somehow, even with the abbreviated length and use of sequins, it looks so much better than the previous black cut-out dress.

I think is too much. too much flesh showing and too much glitter. but I love her shoes.

I agree that the seam looks odd, and while I don’t hate the dress as is, I think that it would have been far and away better without the cutouts, they really cheapen what could have been a fabulous look.
I would never wear it, but it looks amazing on her!
The dress is ok though not normally a fan of sequins, cut out, micro skirt TOGETHER in the one dress.
Sorry but it’s way to young for Fergie even with her great body.
Don’t really like the shoulder cut-out, and the skirt is a little short. But overall, she looks pretty good in it! She wore this to the late show?? Seems more MTV awards to me.
Fergie, Kristin Cavallari, Heather Graham – they are all telling me to get my sexy on and not be afraid to wear cut-out dresses to the clubs ever again!!!

I love fergie, but this picture does her NO justice. In fact, if I didn’t know better, I’d say that was Jacko…
