most of my undies are sort of in-between, like a cotton bikini with some ruffly lace detail. And they’re totally comfy. I actually agree with what Theresa said about Aerie, and a lot of my undies are from that store. I actually don’t think I have a single totally plain pair of undies.
On bras though, being quite expensive, most of those that I own are totally plain. But I don’t get to buy new ones often, so I feel like when I do, I should take the route of practical over pretty.

I absolutely love lingerie, though I admit sometimes it’s not practical. For the most part I manage to wear one piece if not the whole set. I became addicted to Intimissimi when I was in Italy, and was completely ecstatic when they began selling it in Victoria’s Secret. This past collection was especially wearable everyday since most of the pieces were unobtrusive silk or lace. I really do recommend going to Intimissimi or Victoria’s Secret if you can! If not, there’s always the website.

I tend to get practical for every day, but I do reserve some pretty lingerie for… ahem… ‘special occasions’.

A few months ago I decided, (inspired by a line from High Fidelity, of all things) to get rid of all my plain underwear and instead just keep the pretty things, and I can’t say I’ve regretted it. I even managed to find some lovely vintage-inspired pieces online and in some shops, and I can’t say I regretted it one bit. It’s those little things that make the day extra nice.

It’s important to have a variety…Some for practical purposes (such as nude under white pants), but some for pretty/sexy purposes.

I love wearing pretty lingerie, and I wear it when I can! Sometimes it works under thick, tight dresses, I think. For everyday, though, I usually go for underwear that’s smooth and invisible under clothes, but that has a fun print or lace around the edges. I agree with Theresa; Aerie is a great compromise between the two!

I love buying really pretty lingerie, but I don’t wear it everyday. I tend to go for cute stuff for everyday, bright colours and patterns, that’s still comfy.

I love Aerie because it’s geared towards late teens to early 20′s, and it is both cute and practical. It isn’t overly fancy, but it’s nice enough to make me feel like I tried.

I try to wear pretty lingerie when I can manage it. But like you, I tend to just pull a pair of cotton briefs instead of the lacy silk ones next to it…they really are just more comfortable.
