When I worked in an office I would plan my outfits for the week on Sunday morning so I could have 5 different looking outfits without creating bulk laundry for me to waste my precious weekends washing! I would choose 1 skirt, 1 pair of pants, 1 dress, 4 shirts & 1 jacket (that went with the skirt, pants & dress). The dress was worn on Wednesday as this was meeting day & women were expected to wear a dress or skirt when the very old fashioned bosses were “in house”, the skirt was worn twice (Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Friday) & the pants twice.

Now I’m a stay-at-home-Mum I tend to only plan fashion for big events like weddings, family reunions, photo days (for the kids), etc…I do however plan outfits regularly, not for fashion but for practicality…on days when the kids & I do craft I plan to wear clothing that is already past it’s prime!

I work at home, so I live in pajamas 6 days a week. Whenever I go out it’s like an event, and I don’t like wasting those relatively rare chances to dress up and make an impression. I can also be a bit of an organizational freak, so I absolutely plan my outfits on average a week in advance. Fashion is a passion.

I definitely plan my outfits and lay them out, but I change them when I get up the next day sometimes.

I always plan ahead for the following reasons:
1. It’s fun. And I can’t help it. When I’m invited to an event I always immediately start planning what I’m going to wear, with gifts, speeches and the other important stuff being a late afterthought.
2. My boyfriend and I sleep in different rooms (the old snoring problem), and the closet is in his. Additionally I have to get up earlier, which leaves me no other choice than to choose my clothes before going to bed.
3. I’m usually much too tired in the morning to make any important decisions then.

I’m an outfit planner.
Because I have a daily style blog it makes it easier to plan in advance.
Plus I seem to be constantly planning outfits in my head because I’m forever being inspired by everything.

I’d have to say I’m rather obsessive over my outfits, and I plan them ahead, or at least have a general idea of what I want to wear. I am rarely dressed in jeans and t-shirt for work (even though our office has no dress code whatsoever being an IT- oriented company), and when I oversleep and have to just throw a casual outfit on, I spend the whole day feeling rather shabby, messy and dirty.
But planning outfits and having a very selective wardrobe is a very difficult thing, and I doubt I would be able to afford that luxury if I didn’t both have a friend who is a seamstress and design and make some of my own outfits.

I have over 20 outfits planned at a time hanging on a rolling clothing rack. It helps me when I am being indecisive but I do pick out other things from my closet if I don’t feel like wearing whats already put together.
