Boots-Pretending-to-Be-Socks: Luichiny’s ‘Annabel’ boots

Shoes pretending to be sock Boots Pretending to Be Socks: Luichinys Annabel boots

OK: you didn't think Vivienne Westwood's Granny Strap Boots looked too much like socks, so we've removed them from the list of known Footwear Imposters. We don't think there can be much disagreement about Luichiny's 'Annabel' boots, however: these are boots-pretending-to-be-socks if ever we saw them – in fact, they were one of the ringleaders of the Imposter movement, so we're glad to have been able to finally bring them to justice.

These are an older style, but there seem to still be a lot of them around – we wonder why? If you like them, they're now on sale for just $48.95, and you can buy them here.

  1. Now, call me crazy, but if these sell, I could make a mint out of buying primark legwarmers and sticking them to a pair of new look heels.
    Granny on a budget!

  3. Even without the sock, I still wouldn’t like the shoe. I do kinda like the sock though! Too bad about that shoe stuck to the bottom of it.

  4. Cue synths…
“All alone I have cried silent tears full of pride. In a world made of steel, made of stone…”
Gotta agree w. ayemiy. The first thing I thought of when I saw these was that puzzling mid 80s fad of wearing heels & leg warmers in public. As if one was about to suddenly perform a dance solo on a taxi a la “Fame”.
Yeah, the dancer may “Want to live forever” but they’ll have to do it without these terrible shoes. Take ‘em away fashion police! They’ve done enough harm to society!

  5. Why would anyone think this was a good idea? its entirely unnecessary to wear these when you can just buy socks and shoes separately and wear them together OR apart…

  6. While they may be totally wierd and impractical, I still think they’re cute! And I can’t really say why. :/

  7. They’re not really legwarmers .. they’re woolly bed socks with saggy ankles.
Actually, to me they look like someone’s put on a pair of socks to break the shoes in and stretch them a bit before going out on the town, and then forgotten to take to take the socks off before they left the house.
