This bag is also available in black, but it's sold out, so we're having to show you this one instead. This one isn't sold out, but it is £529 – so much, for such a little thing! It's a little hot pink patent thing, though, and even although it'll make some of you want to throw up through sheer pink overload, those of you who just can't get enough pink in your life can make it your own here

Dress of the Day: People Tree Asymmetric Ruffle Evening Dress

Peole tree dress Dress of the Day: People Tree Asymmetric Ruffle Evening Dress

It’s been a while since we had a little black dress occupying the Dress of the Day spot, so to rectify that, here’s People Tree’s asymmetric ruffle evening dress, which is £115 at ASOS. It’s hanging a little loosely on the model here, but we’re still really liking the one-shouldered ruffle, which adds a little bit of interest to an otherwise classic look.

Ileana Makri earrings: the most expensive safety pins we’ve ever seen

Safety pin earrings Ileana Makri earrings: the most expensive safety pins weve ever seen

No, this isn't a Daylight Robbery post: those "safety pins" are actually made of 18K gold, and those are pavé black diamonds on the clasps. Oh, and they're earrings. £1,995 earrings. That just happen to look exactly like safety pins.

So, what do you think of them, then, readers? Would you pay that much to look like you'd threaded a pair of fancy safety pins through your ears? If you would, you can buy these ones at Browns.

Style on Trial: Sleeves-stuck-to-hem dresses

Sleeves stuck to hem Style on Trial: Sleeves stuck to hem dresses

We’ve shown you the phenomenon of the “sleeves-stuck-to-sides” dress before, and the idea received a pretty mixed reaction from the ladies and gentlemen of the Fashion Police Jury.

Back then, though, we simply assumed that the dress in question was a one-off: that it was working alone, and we’d probably never see its like again.

Now, though, those dresses are everywhere. Well, they are if by “everywhere” you mean “eDressMe“, anyway. They currently have several versions of this style in stock, which makes us wonder if a trend is imminent. And if it is, we want to know what you think of it.

Speaking for ourselves, we kinda like the silhouette these dresses create, but we’re still not convinced we’d enjoy the idea of having our arms attached to our legs at all times. Would you?

(One more of these dresses under the jump, this time from our old friends, Ami Clubwear…)

Wanted! Michael Kors Skirted Swimsuit With Belt

Michael kors swimsuit Wanted! Michael Kors Skirted Swimsuit With Belt

This is another item that falls firmly into the “in our dreams” category, but if we were in the habit of splashing out £220 at a time for swimwear, this Michael Kors one-piece would be residing somewhere near the top of our shopping lists.

Not to worry, though: the onepiece – and particularlt the retro-inspired onepiece – is back in a bog way this season, so we’re sure to see something similar on the high street very soon. And if money is no object, you can buy this one right now at ASOS.

Impostor Footwear: Shoes-that-are-pretending-to-be-socks strike again!

Sock boots Impostor Footwear: Shoes that are pretending to be socks strike again!

They look like they’re knitted, but they’re not. They look like they’re socks, but they’re not. They look like they’re ugly, but …. no, actually, they ARE rather ugly, aren’t they? Or is that just us?

These are Bless’s blue and white plastic and leather boots, and from that you will gather that these aren’t made from wool, which was our first thought, but are actually a plastic and leather “weave”. Which we guess is at least one point in their favour, because as bad as “plastic and leather weave” sounds, ”hand-knitted boots for adults” sounds even worse.

Either way, they’re in clear contravention of our rules on Impostor Footwear, and the elastic around the top is just the final straw for us. If you have a burning desire to look like you’re wearing bed socks in the street, however, and you don’t mind paying £374 to achieve that effect, you can buy these here.

Diane Von Furstenberg compensates designers for copycat jacket design

Spl97959 001[2] Diane Von Furstenberg compensates designers for copycat jacket design

Diane Von Furstenberg found herself on the wrong side of the real-life Fashion Police Fraud Squad recently, when one of her staff was accused of copying a floral jacket designed by Canadian label Mercy, whose designers designers Jennifer Halchuk and Richard Lyle are pictured above.

Von Furstenberg has now apparently agreed to pay an undisclosed amount to the designers by way of compensation – and the member of staff responsible for the copycat crime has been fired.

"I am devastated," von Furstenberg told Counterfeit Chic, "but this can be a lesson for everyone. I will do what is necessary to do, and if indeed there was an infringement, I will compensate and will use this example to make sure this doesn't happen again – not just for me, but for everybody,"
