I own many a hoodie & I have T-shirts with hoods too, but am not sure I’d buy a woven button up shirt with a hood .. kinda lacks the cosy factor, which for me is the whole point.

I like hoodies, and I do use the hood. I don’t think that something has to be practical to be fashionable. This, i’m not sure about though. I guess it could go either way?

I love hoods and have many hoodies, however on a button up shirt, nah

I don’t like hoods. Even on sweatshirts. They don’t look bad, but for me they serve no purpose. And on a shirt like that I’m tempted to put trash and debris in the hood when the wearer isn’t paying attention. I’d far rather have a hat or umbrella than a hood. I’m tall, so unless I buy clothing way over-sized the hood is always too short and uncomfortable.

I have a hood on my nightie, and you’d think, totally unnecessary, but I do occasionally pull the hood up, either for warmth or just the psychological comfort of being cradled. And it works, I nod off like a baby. I think hoods are great. This particular shirt I can see coming in handy in a spring rain, when it’s just too humid and warm for a jacket. It’s different, maybe it’ll catch on, who knows.

I think it’s the same question as why you need a hood on a t-shirt. I’ve never pulled them over my head so far, but I like the look of it.
And I’ve also owned and worn buttoned sweat jackets with hoods that looked a lot like that shirt. It would be interesting to see this item actually being worn, but so far I don’t think it’s a crime of fashion, although I wouldn’t buy it right away.
