New Look’s wet look peplum dress: available in black, pink and “fashion crime”

We think the wet-look dress is poised to become the new harem pant. By that we don't mean it'll make you look like you waited too long before finding a bathroom – just that although the stores seem to be full to bursting with these at the moment, we've yet to see anyone actually wearing one. Maybe we're just hanging out in the wrong places? Or the right places, depending on how you look at it?

New Look have just brought out this wet-look peplum dress in black and pink. We're not sure which is worse, to be honest. We think probably the pink. Neither are going to be particularly forgiving on, obviously (time to renew that gym membership, apparently), but while the black could almost work as part of a kind of punky/rocky/trashy look, the pink just makes us wonder if Mattel are thinking of bringing out a Porn Star Barbie. Because if so, this is exactly what she'd wear. Probably with those clear platforms with the massive heels. You know the ones we mean.

If you're going to buy one of these, they're just £20, but we'd advise wearing with extreme caution. Or you'll end up getting a caution – from The Fashion Police, obviously.
