We had almost made our peace with Melissa. After the beauty that was the Vivienne Westwood/Melissa collaboration we were even considering letting Melissa out on parole: forgiving the label for the various plastic atrocities they've visited upon us over the years, and moving on to a new, and prettier, future.
Then we found these plastic "cloughs", which look so exactly like something one of Santa's Little Helpers would wear that we don't know whether to laugh or cry.
Parole is cancelled.
Sorry, Melissa…

Hi,
Yes, in many cases you’re absolutelly right about the models that Melissa offers. But you have to realize that there is a space for that kind of shoes in the market, specially for girls who have their own style.
More, here is a great option from Melissa, the MELISSA + CAMPANA model, the one that the Campana’s brothers, great brazilian designers made: they are simply irresistible, by the picture you can’t tell but they look really, really nice at the feet.
Kisses,
Jodie
I have to admit that I like them. Reason is they are too cartoonish to be real. As long as they are worn by really beautiful girsl, they can be ironical and fun. I fear the crocs effect: all sort of people wearing them!
Well, I think they would look just darling on a window sill with tulips planted in them!
Is Jodie actually from Melissa?
Anyway, my mom has had a pair of clogs that look identical to that for as long as I can remember and she uses them purely for gardening when it’s muddy out.
Oh, and I’m disappointed too. I loved those Melissa w/ Vivienne Westwood shoes.
My mom has a pair of those that she uses to garden in when it’s muddy out.
Mer — yes, I would imagine Jodie has some connection with Melissa, going by that comment!
Hey, guys! No, I’m not from Melissa! I’m from Brazil, actually. And here in Brazil Melissa is like an institution… Maybe that’s why I sound “from Melissa”.
At the begining Melissa was was plastic shoes for children, we all love it. Then we grow up and the fun was finished.
But then Melissa started to make “adult” shoes! Ok, no more about Melissa.
Just one more explanation about the way I sound. Here in Brazil we are very proud of the global sucess that Melissa and Havainas have today.
(But I must say I would never select this parcticular model…)
Beijos from Brazil!
Jodie
I wear these in the operating room and I LOVE them! So comfy and easy to work in for long hours on my feet. I wouldn’t wear them in public otherwise, but I absolutely love them. Get lots of compliments too, so I’m not alone.
i bought these and i’m really proud to wear them. i have more faces/moods, so sometimes shiny red plastic clogs are perfect
