Style on Trial: Selita Ebanks in THAT Balmain mini dress

Spl87704_022[2]

Selita Ebanks: Victoria's Secret model, possessor of the kind of body that will make grown men weep, and, most importantly for our purposes, wearer of THAT  Balmain mini dress – the one that seems to crop up at every event going these days.

As well as Seltita, the dress has been seen on the likes of Kate Moss (who, admittedly, was paid to wear it) and Jessica Stam. What we want to know is: is it a crime of fashion? Because, to be completely honest, we're just not loving it. And admittedly, if ANYONE was going to wear this dress and get away with it, it would be a Victoria's Secret model, but even so, there's something bugging us about this dress, and by "something" we mean "it's her boob". Why is it so squashed and uncomfortable looking? Why do we get the impression that this breast is an unwilling captive, struggling to be released?

So, Selita: gorgeous girl, but what do you think of her dress? Tell us!

  1. Janine says:

She is too busty for that dress. The dress is meant to worn by stick thin models and french vogue editors and stylists :)

  2. Beazzle says:

Yeah, men might be lovin’ her figure, but I’m not. Its putting it off my food. Its sad, but great clothes look rubbish on chesty, hipsy ladies.

  3. She looks like a background dancer for a 1986 Whitesnake video

  4. Karyn says:

I think this is definitely a crime of fashion on her. She is beautiful but not because of the dress. The dress makes her look like a big breast, not glamorous but disproportional. I think modesty is required to look classy and self-respecting. To me this screams, “I am not a woman but a piece of meat for you to ogle and do as you like with in your imagination.” Women are too amazing and complex to reduce them to their albeit glorious shell. No heterosexual man will give two cents about anything she might say or her internal beauty while in that dress.

  5. Vanessa says:

Her boob looks like an easter egg coming out of it’s basket…eew…that’s what ruined it. And if the hemline was a little longer, she wouldn’t look like such a tryhard slut. Great dress though– I’d try a size bigger though.

  6. Celeste says:

I haven’t seen that dress on anyone else, but it looks like it got shredded by an attacker on the way to the event.
The way it’s designed makes you focus on one boob and the shoulder pads. I can’t imagine that’s good for anyone.

  7. Beti says:

She looks lopsided. Asymmetrical might work for a dress but not so much for breasts.

  8. nj says:

i think it would look cuter if she went up a size or 2 and let her poor boob breathe a bit…also…harsh much beazzle? good clothes look rubbish on chesty hippy ladies? i guess anyone who isnt anorexic is relegated to wearing sacks and castoffs then?

  9. Kelly says:

    Looks trashy, unfortunately…

  10. chocoholic says:

Her boob looks like you could pop it with a pin.
I agree she should have gone a size or two bigger.

  11. RoRo says:

It looks like the more exsposed boob is bigger than the other one. Maybe she put push-up padding in one side and forgot to do the other?

  12. SnapandPrint says:

Her boob looks like it is ready to burst forth, or just burst.

  13. a woman says:

    OH. MY. GOD.
    My eyes are burning…
Erm, I agree with nj – Beazzle? Say that again, and I’ll have to spam you with pictures of Tyra Banks and Beyonce! Chesty, hipsy ladies look great in just about ANYTHING.
I also agree with Karyn: she’s a beautiful woman, but this is trashy and sends the message that it is alright for women to be sexualized against.

  14. Rock Hyrax says:

    Well said Karyn!
On a less serious note, it does look like she’s trying to listen to something important her left breast is telling her…
