Victoria Beckhams’ Fall 2009 dress collection at New York Fashion Week

Victoria-beckham-dress-coll

This season, Victoria Beckham is attending New York Fashion Week as a designer, rather than as simply a front-row celebrity, and trust us, we’re just as surprised as you probably are about that. Actually, though, we have a confession to make: we love almost everything about this collection of dresses, which Mrs Beckham is showing at the Waldorf Astoria, by appointment only. Sure, the simple, sheath-like shapes will be familiar to anyone who’s ever seen Victoria Beckham herself, but as with her last collection, we wouldn’t kick any of them out of the closet. Would you?

(More images under the jump, via Style.com, plus one of Victoria herself looking…interesting.)

Posh herself, meanwhile, made about as dramatic an entrance to New York as you can get, wearing leather leggings and what we really hope isn’t a real fur jacket:

I really like the gold one. and I actually like what she’s wearing too. not so keen on the headband though..

  2. feike says:

It all looks like Posh has already worn it once before. Nothing new or original but generally okay looking.

  3. peachfish says:

Ooh, I like the purple one. A lot of them seem to still suffer from that “hitting you at the most stumpifying spot on your leg” problem though.

  4. Evelyn says:

I love them, especially the white and grey ones which would be appropriate at any time of day.

  5. Anna says:

That looks too real to be fake. *sigh* hypocrite…

  6. Rock Hyrax says:

I think Mrs Beckham has found her niche!

  7. Evil Dolly says:

The red one is nice. But her own outfit… those ginormous sunglasses aren’t flattering, specially with the headband. Airbrush her face gray and you’ve got yourself an alien.

  8. M says:

Man, that one chilfaced model really doesn’t go with those dresses :/

  9. Carol says:

I’d love to see that red one on Kate Winslet at the Oscars!

  10. Susan says:

What’s with the hairband? I don’t get it.

  11. Romanticide says:

While the dresses are lovely I would be more comfortable if the models didn’t look that… famished.
