The Handbag Hat: for anyone who’s ever wanted to wear a bag on their head

The bag hat The Handbag Hat: for anyone whos ever wanted to wear a bag on their head

No wonder this model is looking a trifle sheepish: well, wouldn't you be if you were wearing a handbag on your head?

Now, in an effort to be generous here, we could, of course, argue that this would come in mighty handy if it started to rain. Have you spotted the deliberate mistake there, though? Other than the fact that you'd look exactly like you were wearing a bag on your head, that is? Yes, the problem here is that if you did do a switch handbag-to-headwear switch… you'd have nothing to carry your stuff in, and everything that HAD been inside the bag would have to go into your pockets, or be carried by hand.

Clearly that would be a bit of a deal-breaker, so we can only assume that you're supposed to make a decision before you go outside with this: hat or handbag, what's it to be? And, of course, if you decide to go with "hat"… well, keep an eye out for The Fashion Police…

Of course, if you disagree, you can get this from – who else? – Azumi & David. Thanks to Raechel for the report!

  1. This is so funny! We actually have a so called celebrity in my country which wore a handbag as a hat last year, and she has become a symbol of stupidity ever since, as in “you’re as stupid as monica who couldn’t tell a diffrence between a hat and a bag!”

  2. Oh, isn’t that just fine?
There’s now a hat to go with the boot handbag from last week…
Do you think those designers create these on a bet then wait to laugh at the poor souls who buy this stuff?

  3. Perhaps if it came with a detachable lining you could carry your stuff in that when it starts to rain and you put the hat on. Mind you if you’re that worried about rain you could always put one of your tightly rolled up spare carrier bags (that we need to carry around these days in case we need to buy a carton of milk or something from the supermarket) on your head, and barely look any sillier…

  4. Heh. I rather like this bag. I once turned a knitted cap into a hat. I decided to think about changing the style for another one, and lately I’m thinking I just like my bags wider, and not so squared (equal sides)… Not sure. But I like this – AS A BAG – and this is a cute idea… not knit though, but that’s fine. :-)

  5. Yuck. Personally I’d hate to have handles hanging around my hears. And bucket hats are not exactly a big trend right now… anyone notice how sad this model looks? I would be too.
