Stick-on sunglasses from Azumi & David

Stick on glasses Stick on sunglasses from Azumi & David

Hot on the heels of the clutch-bag-boots, news has reached The Fashion Police of a new innovation from Azumi & David – sunglasses tape!

The brand has already been selling stick-on ties, watches and bracelets, but these stick-on sunglasses will be releases in time for summer. Will you want to wear them, though? Well, they’re not available to buy yet, so we don’t know what kind of actual protection they’ll offer from the sun, but we’re going to go out on a limb and say that, no, we can’t really see “sunglass tape” in our future. But what about you? Is the future looking bright? Is it looking like a roll of sticky tape with glasses printed on it? Tell us!

  1. I see three (actually, many, but we’ll stick with three) problems:
    1. Both models appear to have hair under the tape. Removing the tape without also removing all that hair is going to be tricky.
    2. Many people have sensitive skin, especially facial skin. That tape is going leave a nice bright red square on the face after removal.
    3. The tape is flat — faces are not. How does one prevent the tape from sticking to things besides head hair; things like eyelashes, eyelids, and EYEBALLS! Yikes!!

  2. What would happen if you sweat while wearing these? I’m sure it would be horrible. Unless it causes them to fall off in which case you’d be free of the horrors.

  3. What are people thinking? I often find myself asking that question when lookong at bad designs, but with this one especially so. Who would wear sun glass tape when they ould go out and buy a pair of real sunglasses. Espeially since witv this design you pose the risk of pulling out your eyebrows or eyelashes when taking off the tape.

  4. I think they are an interesting concept, especially for those who can’t wear actual sunglasses because they have eyeglasses and cannot afford prescription ones. But in practicality the straight tape design would, pull out hair… and look ridiculous. With a little design work, these could actually happen… I would probably get a few.
