Sienna Miller is Elle’s Style Icon 2009

Spl78875_020[2]

Earlier today we showed you a shressed-up Anna Friel and Alice Dellall attending the Elle Style Awards, but as Manu rightly observed, neither of them won any style awards. In fact, the lady of the night was none other than Sienna Miller, who was named Elle’s Style Icon for her “fashion forward” sense of style.

Sienna has actually dropped off the Fashion Police radar in the past few moths. We haven’t felt the need o arrest her for anything, but then again, she hasn’t exactly been blowing us away either, so we’re not quite sure how we feel about this one. Here she is ready to accept her reward in a Matthew Williamson dress and Louis Vuitton feather-shouldered blazer. What do you think: a deserving winner?

  1. Madeline says:

I luv the dress, but the blazer is a bit off. Her make-up is weird too.

  2. Steph says:

She is one of those people, like Agyness Deyn and Alexa Chung, who is constantly being touted as a fashion icon but whose style I simply do not understand.

  3. Nooo! Does no one remember when she was promoting Factory Girl and went about without pants on for, like, months? For shame, Elle.

  4. chocoholic says:

I’m not a huge fan of her style, I don’t know, I feel pretty neutral towards her really.

  5. nj says:

i’m with steph on this one…they couldn’t think of anyone that wasn’t kate moss part 2?

  6. CJ says:

I think that she looks rather tacky and thrown together. But there’s nothing strikingly ugly about her outfit either. On a scale of one to ten for good outfit, I’d give her about a five.

  7. Lisa says:

She tries too hard. I prefer style icons who are more effortless in their attempts.

  8. Diana says:

    I don´t know… I don’t hate it but either love it…

  9. Am says:

I guess the idea of a style icon is all taste and opinion. My opinion is that this woman should never win a style icon award, but that’s just my opinion and that has been known to be wrong in the past….

  10. MizzJ says:

Hmm, well according to wikipedia, she’s practically the inventor of boho-chic, so I suppose that justifies her to win! I kinda like her style, and it seemed like she was doing it before everyone else way back when.

  11. Missy says:

The Outfit is amazing and very creative! She wears everything with confidence! Her style is perfect, creative, and unique! I would wear everything she wears!
