Primark Spring/Summer 2009 collection – what do you think?

Primark-spring-summer-09

They still don’t sell online, damn them, so before you head to your nearest Primark to browse the Spring/Summer 09 collection, here’s a quick preview of what’s going to be available, to help you decide whether it’s worth the trip.

Some of these pieces are in-store now, but most won’t be available until April, so you have plenty of time to make up your mind. All we ask is that when you do, you come back and tell us what you think!

Yet more evidence that hips are going to be big this year – literally.

Peasant chic. Or not-so-chic, depending on how you feel about it.

I love the top two and the peasant dress. The rest…are good IF you’ve got a killer eye for fashion and know how to make the pieces work…there’s a lot of pattern and texture to play with. but good lord, they could go so wrong so fast. But that pink dress with the gold buttons is absolutely adorable and I love it.

  2. Eva says:

I want the first four dresses – does this mean that I have to go to England in spring? And brave the chaos that is actually shopping at Primark – ugh!

  3. Diana says:

The pink dress is nice, the rest just bleh.

  4. xony says:

    oooh

    Where i cant by that?

  7. nj says:

why would anyone want the dresses with the square?!?! hips
this makes no sense…i don’t know anybody who ever says “i wish i had an item of clothing that would make my hips look ginormous…that would complete me”
seriously…i want to hear from anyone who likes them…’splain please

  8. Marina says:

I agree – I hate this trend for “square” hips! Tulip dresses were bad enough and made even my backside look huge (I am size 8 and 5′9″). But to be honest, I haven’t seen anybody wearing one of those dresses yet….

  9. c says:

    wow those are SO cute

  10. b. says:

The top pink one would only suit someone who’s got no breasts.

  11. JC says:

The first two are cute, was disappointed with what I found under the jump though, I do however, already have the spotty bikini and it looks a lot better in real life

  12. Marisa says:

I don’t think anyone WANTS square hips, but her hands are in the pockets, and defined hips make your waist look tiny. Needless to say, I am in love with the first two dresses.
I don’t understand why everyone has to make a giant mixed print maxi dress if they want to do the peasant look. It happens every time the hippie look returns.

  13. Heather says:

Oh my goodness, I had a dress almost exactly like the maxi peasant dress when I was in high school–I thrifted it (it was from the early 70’s) and I loved it to bits–literally. I wouldn’t get near it with a ten foot pole now.

  14. Janet C says:

The shoes are nice, but I hate all the clothes. I truly despise that wide-hipped look. My hips DO NOT need enhancing. And the bodice on that pink dress makes her look like a little boy — totally flat-fronted.

  15. Those of you asking who would want to widen their hips – I posted a padded hipped dress last week and a couple of people said they liked the shape:

  17. Steph says:

i want that pink striped dress with the gold buttons. the bikini i agree is better in real life i just wish they sold the top and bottoms seperatly, i never get my size!the glasses a must have!!luurrrvvvee them…

  18. OLAYA says:

love dress hips… I am huge hips, but tiny waist and legs… so I have huge hips and it will hidde them!!!!

  19. wendy says:

    love the all the dresses
and that bikini is so cute!
anyone know when they’ll be in store? i tried the london oxford street store yesterday but couldnt find any of them! x

  20. gina says:

i brought that pink striped dress
i think its just to big for the model..or i brought the wrong size
I want the flower dress now!

  21. i absolutely love it!
maybe except for the big peasant dress.
i am in LOVE with the sunglasses, the orange/red button down dress, the white and blue floral skirt and the denim dress.

  22. frances says:

i love the floral dress not too long ! i guess it’s time to brave the store :)

  23. Audrina says:

i think that it would be really good if primark would set up a site not to neccessarily buy clothes but just to browse, casue then you can see whats there first, instead of getting stressed out at the shops, wondering whether they have what you want or not!
