We've shown you a selection of Oscars dresses, but now it's time to address the most important question of all: who was the Best Dressed at the 2009 Oscars?
Cast your votes in the poll you'll find under the jump and help us decide who wins the award for the Best Actress in a Leading Dress…
We've been hitting you with lots and lots of pictures of pretty (and perhaps not-so-pretty) dresses from the 2009 Oscras today, so just in case you're getting lost, here are links to all the celebrities we've been looking at:
Unfortunately, we just don't have time to show you every single outfit, but if we've missed someone you loved or loathed, drop us a comment – we'd love to hear what you thought!
One of the few actresses to go for a truly bright colour, Natalie Portman chose this pink Rodarte gown. We love her hair and makeup here, and while we didn’t initially fall in love with the dress, the more we look, the more we like – it’s definitely eye-catching, but manages not to be too OTT either.
We generally approve of Marisa Tomei's red carpet choices, and this is no exception. This Versace gown isn't shown to best effect in this photo: up close it's all intricate folds and pleats, making it something of a work of art. Yes, it's another pale dress, but it's a pretty one, so we like.
Bright red is a colour many redheads will tend to shy away from, so kudos to Amy Adams for both wearing it and making it work, in a flowing Caroline Herrera dress which shows off her porcelain skin. A Fashion Police thumbs up…
Elegant, classy, a little bit regal looking… and woud’ve been even better in a colur other than this dull grey, we think. Colour aside, Meryl Street is glowing and gorgeous, don’t you think?
Well, well, well, lookit little Miley Cyrus! We suspect this pink Zuhair Murad dress will be one of those “love it or hate it” numbers, but as for us, well, taking into account that she’s young enough to get away with something so pink and frothy, we think it’s rather wonderful. What do you reckon?
It’s her own design. Why does this not surprise us one little bit?
The shape, of course, is classic Beyonce, and not too bad. The fabric, meanwhile, is classic “curtain”, and we reckon that’s what’s doing the damage here.
Could Beyonce beat Jessica Biel in the Worst Dressed stakes?
