Lady Gaga to launch her own fashion line – but what do you think of her style?

Spl76411_016[1]

This month Lady Gaga announced that she plans to launch her own fashion line, and is "in talks" about this very matter. We can't say we're surprised – and not just because it seems that everyone who releases a single these days follows it up with a fashion line. No, love it or loathe it, Lady Gaga's style is definitely a guaranteed attention-getter, but what we want to know is: what do you think of it?

Does the thought of a Gaga range of (presumably slightly toned-down) clothing fill you with glee, or do you think The Fashion Police should be cracking down on this before it even gets started? You'll find some pictures of the Lady in question under the jump: tell us what you think of her style!

Does anyone else think she’s kind of trashy? Maybe it’s just that I loathe when you can see someone’s bra coming out of a dress (but then again, at least she has one on right?) OR crop tops in general. But I think she looks quite nice in the blue dress..

  2. Cristina says:

It’s all quite tight isn’t it?

  3. gokarm says:

Rather dull, except for the outfit that looks like she’s wearing a chainmail scarf. I like that one. I think she needs to embrace the futuristic “robotic” thing she tends to go for. The only thing remotely interesting about the rest of her looks is her hair…and that can’t be sold on a hanger. I’m sure to be underwhelmed.

  4. Eva says:

I’ve never heard of her, so I assuem she’s a purely british phenomenon. In any case: it’s ratehr boring.

  5. Veronika says:

    Gokarm: maybe it’s a wig?
Eva: actually she’s from the States. New York to be percise.

  6. Arielle says:

Gotta go with Gokarm on this one. Underwhelming.

  7. Evelyn says:

She really likes that blonde hair bow, doesn’t she?

  8. nj says:

she needs to stop thinking about this fashion line business and just dance…hehe…her song…just dance…ah well…i am as much a comedienne as she is a designer

  9. Kary says:

It is out there! She definitely has her own unique style but some of it you just have to say “wow, is she really wearing that?” I heard from another source she is directing her line to target teenage girls, I don’t think this is good–mothers are going be up in arms seeing their little girls going GaGa.

  10. Susan says:

Too fleshy. Kinda interesting style and hairdos but the fabrics look so cheap, specially in the first outfit. That black vinyl bow is just not right… Inside your home everything’s fine but vinyl is just not right out there in the streets.

  11. geek says:

I would have thought there were plenty of clothing lines that were working the ’streetwalking’ angle. I suppose, however, there is always room for more.

  12. rachael says:

why can’t people just stick to what they do – she is a singer, not a designer!

  13. olivia says:

What style? She doesn’t have any.

  14. Belle says:

Take away the wig/extension THING on her head, the “quirky” clothes and the fake tan and all you’d have left is a girl who can’t sing.
She’s all about the image, not music!

  15. natalia says:

i think she is just trying to get noticed and not written off as a one-hit wonder.

  16. Holly says:

Just buy some latex. Voila, her ’style’.

  17. Shazazna says:

I’ll probably check out the line, I think her style is interesting.

  18. chocoholic says:

Lady Gaga is one of those people that I can’t imagine as a real person.
She doesn’t have a real name and she’s always wearing sunglasses, even at night.
She’s wearing them in every pic.
She just seem real, just like a character.
And yes, I agree with the trashy statement…

  19. sisi says:

well i am a teenage girl and if she is aiming at people like me then she won’t sell much at all. i think she looks absolutely effing awful in whatever she wears! she is trying to be far too ‘unique’ and ‘edgy’ and it just falls on the wrong side of shocking to be considered fashionable.

  20. Joey Sauer says:

These are not her best outfits or photographs, which makes the arguement a bit biast. She had some really awesome clothes she wore to the award ceremonies and she has great music.

  21. Weirdo Finn says:

The latex-vinyl-what-ever-it’s-this-time combos actually look quite nice – for the privacy of your own home, that is. The other outfits depicted are just stupid attempts at acting eccentric.

  22. Sophie says:

NO! Her outfits are mostly quite eccentric and flashy, which is fine on her, but no normal person will wear this in everyday life!

  23. Diana says:

I agree with Weirdo Finn…just stupid attempts to look eccentric, that’s it.

  24. Danielle says:

Please don’t let her bring back huge shoulder pads. I think her style is a combo of the worst of the late 80’s/90’s. I saw her live and she sounded/looked horrible

  25. Anna says:

Her music is good, but she seems to be having trouble with the concept that freakish music video clothes aren’t for the real world….

  26. aldyndskies says:

I’m thinking there’s one too many letters in her name.

  27. Maria says:

She has neither sense of style nor class. What she does have though is a total lack of shame (how else can you justify some (majority) of her outfits??). Anybody can grab random/weird clothes off the shelf, put them on at the same time and expect people to think that they are a fashion icon. It takes taste and sense of style to dress fashionably yet sophisticated.

  28. legos-designer says:

lets be straight about it a do think that the hair its fake and some times i feel that shes being a person that she isnt, but her style its a rather interresting style that some times needs to be pollish thats all, and for those that do not now, trashy its a style to and a very good one

  29. legos-designer says:

  30. legos-designer says:

hoo and one more thing i dont agree whit the idea that all the singers whant to be designers.
i dident kill me self studing fashion to be conpeting whit some rich singer that one day desidet to play whit clhothes

  31. chantel says:

her hair is fake. it’s actually brown and kinda curly. she looks like a totally different person without the wig. and especially with no make up on go look it up.
be reasonable. she’s obviously not going to sell exactly what she wears. the clothing line would be a very died-down version of her clothes. i don’t think she’s going to sell her image that quickly.

  32. FrankiiDoodle says:

I think she looks good, I’d buy it!

  33. Fabby says:

    Kill it dead.

  34. Lexi says:

David Bowie did this years ago.
    Unoriginal.

  35. Sherm says:

I think her dressing style is kinda unqiue, and suits her totally. It will definitely attract lots of attention and i bet this is her purpose. One look at it you will know she’s lady gaga! Cool chic

  36. Niki says:

I don’t think anyone else should wear her clothes – but at the same time I don’t think it’s terrible that SHE’S wearing them. She’s a performer after all, and this is part of her act. The comments about it all being too 70s/80s are true because that’s her inspiration, and glam rock. Not that anyone wants those things to actually come back in vogue but it’s amusing seeing her prance around in them. I like her use of bows, myself.

  37. Roseanna says:

where dose she get the outfits from in the first place? thats what worries me. but i thinks it cool that she wheres them.

  38. bexx says:

i like the blue dress, although its 3 sizes too small. i dont think she should become a designer though
i mean, shes a singer, shes popular, why cant she just be happy with that?

  39. iley says:

Sooooooooooooooo random its weird and seriously who other than her is gonna wear that. Like if I went to school like that everybody would think Im a loser.

  40. Diandra says:

I’m looking forward to it; I think her style is interesting and unique! She may go overboard sometimes, but that’s alright I guess.

  41. Keila says:

    The Japanese would love it!
    Ugh!

  42. me says:

UGH! at least we know her fashion line will fail. but if it doesn’t… what is the world coming to?
