To be completely honest, ifRoverto Cavalli insists on charging $1,145 for what is, after all, just a floral print jersey dress – albeit a rather nice one – we don’t think we can blame New Look for producing their own “inspired by” version, do you? In fact, we’re thinking the Fraud Squad may just have to turn a blind eye, because even at the original price of £22, the New Look dress represents such a huge saving on the original, especially for something we’d probably only get to wear a handful of times each year.

What about you, though? Would you rather pay $1,145 for Roberto Cavalli?

  1. Personally, the bodice area would be more flattering for my figure…which is the only real difference between the 2 dresses.
This would be another case of daylight robbery, as far as I’m concerned.

  2. Well the new look garment is clearly inferior as the flowers already look faded and the fabric looks like a cheap t-shirt’s…but it’s a cute and comfortable dress and I totally approve. Still, I know that with Cavalli…that dress is impecably made and worth every penny.

  3. I could never justify paying THAT much for something that’s gonna go out of style in a few months. Plus let’s be honest, you are not really paying for quality, but for the name. Also, unless you are a celebrity, do you think people around you would actually be able to tell that you are wearing a designer dress?? I don’t think so…..
