Well, this just confirms something we've suspected for a long time: that American Apparel would not-so-secretly like to ditch the clothes altogether and just fill their website with pictures of totally nude models. Let's face it, they're not a kick in the ass away from doing that already, and they've just taken one step further towards their goal with this mesh dress, which they're selling for $32. (It's also confirmed that there are people in the world who will spend money on nothing, but then, we already knew that…)
We've blanked out the model's nipples, for the benefit of those of you who may be reading at work, but American Apparel didn't, so you probably won't want to check out the matching mesh bodysuit they're also selling as part of this range. Trust us.
The dress in question was reported to us by Officer Jen last night, but has since mysteriously disappeared from the AA website. We can only hope that they've seen sense and removed it: we'd really hate to think of the extra work the force will have to deal with if it's actually sold out…
Interestingly, AA claim the dress is "inspired" by the House of Holland sheer football dress, as worn by Agyness Deyn last year . Oh, well that makes it all OK, then!*
* Note : not really

Ew. Just. Ew.
Not cool, American Apparel. Not cool.
I wouldn’t classify this as clothing.
Lingerie perhaps?
Coming from the same people that try to sell us gold and silver foil bodysuits and hotpants is anyone really suprised that they’d come up with this garbage next?
That’s really, really not okay.
In my country we say “se va al carajo”, well it really does, where would anyone wear that?? apart from bed obviously..
everyone needs to relax… why are you all losing your minds over someone wearing, or manufacturing to wear, something that THEY find sexy, attractive, perhaps makes THEM feel good? The world would be way better if everyone decorated themselves exactly as they wish, be it almost nude, nude, fully covered, in costume, with bananas on their head… whatever.. unjudged. It’d make for a colorful world where everyone could appreciate each other.
Well, to be fair, not EVERYONE would appreciate each other. You’d probably still freak out at people who don’t have exactly the same opinion on see-through dresses as you do. Also, do you even see the irony of thinking everyone should “decorated” themselves exactly as they wish, unjudged, while at the same time judging everyone on this thread for not wishing to “decorated” themselves in exactly the same things you like? Thought not. Or the irony of telling us to “relax” while ranting hysterically on a post that’s almost two years old, and getting wound up because you’ve just discovered that different people like different things?
woof
I like mesh dressed… wtf is wrong with you people? lol
